So, let’s get started. Okay, first of, I’d like to get you started with what kind of mindset it takes to build a simple site. Now, a lot of people think that a simple site is simply just something slapped together. Uh, you know, a bunch of junk, a bunch of banners, uh, but it’s not. There’s a lot more thought put into ’em. And later on, we’re gonna show you some examples of simple sites. But see, the reason the simple sites work like I said before, is because you’re targeting what the user wants.

 

So, based on whatever search term they’re using, you need to focus your page to that, and to getting ’em to what they want fast. For example, I, uh, recently ran a site under the word “mortgage calculator.” I found out this word was really cheap. It was about 20 to 30 cents per click, uh, for the traffic that I got. And I was able to market, uh, refinance quotes, expensive AdSense clicks, and things of this nature.

 

And what I did is I took them in for mortgage calculator, and a lot of other affiliate marketers out there will take someone from a word like “mortgage calculator.” And they’ll just bring them to a site and say, “Fill out a mortgage quote.” While that can work and you can make money, it doesn’t provide a good user experience, because the user is not getting what they came for. They’re not getting a mortgage calculator.

 

So, what I did is I went and purchased the resell rights, and the reprint rights to a mortgage calculator that was in JavaScript. And you don’t need to be a programming genius to be able to figure out how to cut and paste a code. Actually, they even gave me the instructions and some sample pages, so I can just build mine right over top of theirs. But I use these mortgage calculators, there was about I think 15 or 20 of them. And I put them on the site, so that the people looking for mortgage calculators would come and see instantly what they wanted.

 

Now, this did two things. One, it provided a good user experience. And two, as they messed around with the calculators, each person visited an average of 12 different pages on my website. So for every click that I was bringing into my page, I was now multiplying them the eyeballs on my ads by 12. So, this added up really quick into a lot of profit, because I have so many people looking at so many different parts of the site, and each time they do, they get the AdSense, and they’re getting a view of my affiliate programs, and the refinance quotes they could fill out where sometimes I’ve been paid as much as you know, $40 to $65 per quote. And that doesn’t even ask for their social security number or anything. It’s just a, you know, name, address, how much do you think your house is worth, something like that.

 

Now, as a side note, make sure that the companies you work with are, uh, of good reputation so that you’re not getting in a position where your users are being funneled to junk, or spyware, or something like that. Make sure they’re going to a good legitimate, um, mortgage quote, or whatever it is that you’re offering. And in the bonus CD-ROM, you have various companies you can use that we’ve tested, uh, for years and years. And you can get started with them right away, and start building your simple sites with those companies that will pay you for you know, they’ll pay you per download, per click, per sale, per lead, uh, many different ways to get.

 

But again, the mindset, you need to focus on what the user wants. You have to care more about the user than yourself, because that’s how you’re gonna make money. You need to care about what it looks like to them, how it works for them. And this is really where the internet is headed is a good user experience. You know, a lot of people would just slap up junk, and you know, it might work because you know, clicks are cheap and things like that. But you really wanna give the user what they want. If they’re looking for mortgage calculators, give them mortgage calculators. If they’re looking for pet grooming tips, give them pet grooming tips.

 

Now, you can use these to market your stuff as well, um, and you can market many different things to them, but just make sure that it’s good, and honest, and then you’re gonna win. Let me give you another example of how this can work. Um, and that is a rebate site I built for cars. People were looking for rebates for Ford cars, Dodge’s, you know all these different car makes they were looking for rebates on them. And what I did is I made a page based on what rebates were out. And I led them through our process where they can read a sales letter about how I save money on my car, and how they can do the same thing.

 

So as a mindset, think in terms of the customer, think of what they would want. Think of how you can please them the most, and you’re gonna do very well. And really pay attention to what they search for, because the searches will tell you exactly what they want. And if they’re kind of … if it’s kind of a shady market where you can’t figure out what they want, you can even ask them like on my main site pcmoneymaking.com, I had a question form where I was offering $10 for everyone who asks me a valid question about internet marketing, and they got the $10 if I decided to use that in one of my DVD products.

 

And as a result, I paid you know, couple hundred dollars, but I got invaluable information that told me what the people who are going to my site were looking for. Now, you can do the same thing without giving away $10. You can have you know, four, five different lengths and track the traffic to them. But again, the mindset, make sure that it’s all about the customer.

 

A little note that I’d like to add on the subject of internet moneymaking mindset is that I see a lot of people out there who really want to just do anything they can and make a million bucks tomorrow. That’s probably not gonna happen. So, what I would say to you is get the mindset of how can I find little markets, niche markets with you know, maybe 5 to 800 searches a day, and use those to make money and then duplicate it, and keep duplicating, and keep building.

 

Uh, for example, recently, I was looking to, uh, get people into my sales funnel for this DVD. And I found out that 35 people a day were looking up the word “press release, uh, or press release optimization.” Coming from a background of search engine optimization, and having written a few press releases that have gotten over a 160, uh, thousand visitors each for 200 bucks, uh, pretty good deal. But having done that, I wrote an article about press release optimization and gave them some free advice.

 

At the end of that article, I put an opt-in form for a free video about, um, press release optimization and they watch that video, and get funneled into this video. But also, I’m funneling ’em into click bank products that pay me anywhere from $50 to $70 for press release software. And the big huge package by a marketer who has a press release traffic series, and that one pays like 400 bucks.

 

So, off of this little tiny market, you can make a couple hundred bucks a day if done right. Now, I’m not saying that you know, you slap it up and tomorrow you’re gonna make a couple hundred bucks, but, uh, what I am saying is this is a business just like any other business, and you have to work at it, and you have to do things slow, and deliberate, and really focus on what the user wants and how you can bring them into something that is going to make you money.

 

For example, the mortgage calculator site, that’s something people are paying a lot of money for. I mean, mortgages are probably the most expensive thing people ever buy. And, um, so you want to get those people and, and you could sell them something big if it promises that they’re gonna save money. Uh, same with cars. If, if you have something that, that’s gonna save ’em a couple thousand dollars, there’s no problem charging you know, anywhere from 40 bucks to 200 bucks and up, depending on what it is.

 

Uh, same thing with press releases. If you have the press release, um, software you know, that people will pay a lot, because they’re already gonna pay 2, 300 bucks just to submit the thing, and they will pay more to learn how to submit it right and not waste their money. So, with that in mind, build slow sites deliberately, and focus on what the people want. And don’t make your goal to make a million bucks tomorrow. Make it, “Hey! How can I spend today my eight hours of work today to generate $5 or $10 every day?” Because if you could take today and sit down and say, “How can I generate $10 a day?” At the end of the year, that’s $3600 in your pocket from eight hours of work.

 

Now, I’m not saying you’re going to do that. What … What I am saying is test it, and try it, and try new methods, and start slow, and set your daily, uh, click limits low. You know, just try stuff out. Test it out. Do it deliberate. And you know, tra- track the results, become a tracking and junky like me. I love to see you know, the different results, but start slow and deliberate.

Okay, so here we go into the Simple Sites studio. Here’s where we’re gonna record everything. Welcome to the pcmoneymaking.com studio where I’m gonna show you exactly how I build these simple sites. But before we get started, I’d like to give you a little bit of how I started using the simple sites method, and how it came to be, and where it came from.

 

So first of, a little background on me. I’ve been working from home online for about seven years now. I started, um, seven years ago. I was flat broke, and had no idea what I was doing. Uh, but I found out one of the sites that I built for a client of mine ended up ranking in the top 10 search results for the word “free cigars.” And so I started a search engine optimization company based on the fact that I could get people ranked at the top of the search engines.

 

Now around 2000, 2001, the market became very, very competitive. And the people who were paying for clicks on the word “search engine optimization” were paying anywhere from you know, $9 to $20 per click, which I simply didn’t wanna pay, and at the time couldn’t afford. So, what I did is I decided to break up my site and make it very targeted based on what people were looking for. So, I have the same service where I can get people ranked, but I split it up.

 

So, I found that people were looking up dental website marketing, and I made a special site that said, “Hey, dentists! Here’s how you can get a top search engine ranking.” And, um, I made one for network marketers and said, “Hey, network marketers, here’s how you could generate more leads in sales using search engine optimization.” I built one for limousine, uh, company owners, and we had tons of limousine companies order from a page, because they thought that I was an expert in optimizing limousine websites.

 

So, as a result, I got clicks way cheaper sometimes even free using the search engine optimization techniques, because there were so little competition in these areas, and I was getting a better conversion rate, because if people came to the site and found exactly what they were looking for for their company. And as a result, I lived off that for about three to four years, made a very comfortable living, uh, with no prior experience or anything like that, just a lot of go get them-ness if you wanna call it that.

 

And because I use the simple sites method, this worked very well. It later evolved into, uh, a gas scooter website that I ran where we had gas scooters drop shipped, and we made sites and pages for this scooter site based on the simple sites principle, based on what the users were typing in. So, if they were typing in, uh, gas powered scooters cheap, which was very common then, and I’m sure it’s still looked up now, we would take them to a site that said, “Hey! Get your gas powered scooters cheap.”

 

And as a result, they thought it was exactly what they wanted, and the phone lit up, and rang off the hook, and we got tons of orders. So, I’d like to now get into why the simple sites work, and how you can make ’em work for you using the same exact principle to sell products, services, uh, market affiliate websites, and things of this nature. Now, I’ve done all of those with simple sites using free search engine traffic, using pay-per-click traffic, uh, using press releases, a whole bunch of things, uh, affiliates, a whole bunch of things to market my simple sites, and it’s been very, very good to me. And I’m hoping that it’ll do the same for you.

This is the most laser-focused thing that you need to focus on.
You have to look at what’s going to work for your market

Here is what’s going to work:
Having the right message for the right market
I don’t care how fancy it is.
I could write on a piece of paper what I want to say
and if I give it to the right person,
They’re gonna buy.
Plain and simple.
This is how marketing works

If you go out and you try to sell ice to Eskimos,
it’s gonna be a tough sale
If you try to sell it to people here in Florida where it’s hot every day,
it’s gonna be a lot easier.

FOCUS ON THAT.
Those are the fundamentals of marketing.
DO NOT STRAY FROM IT

Do not look outside anything else
That’s the deal.

If you don’t have the right message to the right market, You are OUT.

If you want to make your $500 dollars a week,
How are you gonna do it?

You’re NOT gonna do it by learning more tech skills…
You’re NOT gonna earn it by doing some fancy image editing skills…
You’re NOT gonna earn it by doing some fancy blog, wordpress theme thing…
You’re NOT gonna do it by learning a bunch of SEO…

You’re gonna learn it by getting the right offer in front of the right market

I watch the other people’s videos. There is a lot of people out there and they get a lot of traffic and they make peanuts. They make nothing. They make $500 a month and they’re getting 60,000 visitors a month.

…..If I only got $500 for 60,000 visitors….I’d be broke as a joke.

because I don’t get that many visitors
I don’t need that many visitors
I need to convert the visitors I have!

You guys could see there’s a lot of money going in
and on and on we go

Remember: PayPal is less than 5% of my income.
So you could see there’s like a lot of money in the junk drawer
My best month of the junk drawer was $9400
That’s pretty good.

How many guys would be like:

“Yeah, I’d like to like have almost 10,000 in the junk drawer from random affiliate offers.”
I think that would be pretty cool, right?
That would be awesome

How would that feel for you if you were able to be like:

This year alone, I got over $57,000 in payments for the random offers in the junk drawer.

Now, for a lot of people, if they could make $57,000 as their major source of income they would be happier than a pig in the slop. That would be happier than whatever happy things are and wherever happy people are.

I would be happy if I was able to look at a check and be like
“Man! This year, I got $57,000! Awesome!”
Now, again remember:
That’s just my junk drawer

I can show you the results from just random little stuff that I do and I think a lot of the other stuff will start to make sense….
I think you’ll start to get the magnitude of this business

and also… I’m a small fry!
There’s a lot of other people that make 10, 15, 20, 100 times what I make!
There’s a lot of people that make a lot more!

But I got a system that works!
I choose to be smaller because I like the lifestyle it provides.
I don’t want a huge lifestyle. I don’t need all this stuff.
but we got a look at that
We got what is a lifestyle you want

Now here’s some other affiliate offers that I ran….

Now, I want you to look at the clicks, I only got 2,000 visitors
That’s all I sent! That’s not that much right.
There’s people getting lots of traffic.
I get lots – I get 2,000 visitors a day!

……..but this was 2,000 visitors I sent to one offer.
I got $18,700 for 2,000 visitors.

RIGHT NOW, what I’m going to do is:

I’M GONNA GO FORWARD

This is exactly what happened to me years ago when I started affiliate marketing. I went in affiliate marketing and I started and I was down and out. I was broke; probably broker than a lot of you. I lived in the living room of my brother’s mobile home. I had a car that barely worked. I used to be a preacher at the time and a preacher friend of mine actually paid to fix my car because it was broke. Other than that, it barely even worked. I didn’t have a lot of money for food, for health insurance. I had a baby on the way. My girlfriend, now she’s my wife, was pregnant at the time. We had no money. I had the stories. I had everything. I had no place to live.

Here I was. This was my story.
What does my story have to do with my success?
Nothing.
…It’s just a good story.
What does it have to do?
Does it matter that I was broken?
Was it good or bad that I was broke?

NO.
It was neither good nor bad.
It was where I was.
Plain and simple.

Now, you might think that if a guy has a million dollars in the bank he’s probably going to be successful with affiliate marketing….

I got clients from all walks of life….
It doesn’t matter

actually…
Usually, the people who really need the money the most
are the ones who make it.
Usually the least successful customer is the one who’s making $70,000 – $100,000 a year.
They’re comfortable
They got their job
They don’t really need to do affiliate marketing but they’re kind of tired of their job but they like getting paid by their job so they really don’t want to do anything
That’s usually the demographic that doesn’t work

When I get some kid who’s like:

Those are usually the ones that make it.
Why? ….because they have to.
THEY HAVE TO.

I guarantee if you had to make this business work like I had to 20 years ago… If you had to, you’d make it work.

We always do what we have to do
Usually, some people don’t…..
Some people roll over and do whatever…..
but most people do what they have to do.
Are you willing to do what you have to do?

Even when you don’t have to do it,
Are you willing to self-motivate yourself and say:

Look Marcus, I want to be able to send 2,000 clicks and get $18,000

It’s very important
You got to look at it.
You got to focus.

If your back was against the wal,l what would you do?
How many of you guys are complaining because you can’t build
a website?

If your back was against the wall and I said:
Look, I’m gonna sell your house if you don’t build a website.

You figure out a way to build a website!
If you had to,
you’d figure out a way
and you’d figure it out fast
You wouldn’t dilly-dally around
You wouldn’t go out there and be like
“Well the Guru said this and this guy said that and
there was this one video I saw….”

You’d be like
“I’m gonna learn to build a damn website
I have to.”
So make it a MUST!

Now, from another random affiliate offer…..
I made almost $44,000.
One of my accounts, one little account is doing almost $1700 a day
Think about that for a minute

What if you had one thing that produced $1700 a day for you?
How would you feel?

Now, again….

We’re gonna focus on the little goal of $500 a week
because that’s something I think everyone can do and everyone can start with.
If you really focus, it’s not that hard to do.

You could do that with:
• YouTube traffic
• Free Google traffic
• Banner traffic
• Paid traffic
• Solo ads

Now, again, I don’t know if you’re gonna do it

I don’t know if you’ll do anything.
I don’t know if you’re gonna listen to this and you’re gonna get all hyped up
and then you’re gonna go do nothing.

The goal for next year should be your biggest year by at least a dollar.

Why are we doing this?
1. It needs to be realistic.
2. It’s got to be something you’ve attained before so you understand what it is gonna take.

I HATE when people say “I only want to make $300”

I HATE when people come to me and say that

Now, my first year goal was 20,000 and I hit it.

Best thing I ever learned in alcohol recovery was standing up in front of a bunch of strangers, which a lot of people are scared to death to talk in front of people. I was scared because it was like personal stuff. They let you tell your story. I stood up in front of a bunch of people and told my story and it is all the details.

Here I am and….
…I’m expecting people to cry
…I’m expecting people to come talk to me
…I’m expecting like a bunch of reactions
and people to be emotionally driven

You know what I got?
I got 20 people who said “Thanks for sharing, next person please”

That was the biggest eye opening moment of my life because I told my story. Ever since I was a kid, I would tell my story and someone would feel bad. I’d tell my story and someone would cry. I’d tell my story, someone to take me out for ice cream. In life, if I told my story, people would buy things. If I told this, people would feel this. Here I am in a room. I just told the most vulnerable story I can tell. I’m like holding back tears. And they say “Thanks for sharing, next…”.

What about my story?
The internet doesn’t care about your story.
ONLY YOU DO
and only you are gonna let it stop you
as much as you’re going to
My story has happened
But do they define me? Do they hold me back?

When I drank they did….I said
“Oh man. I’m a victim. When I was a kid, this sucked. When this happened, this sucked. I’m gonna go drink because this sucks”

or I could be like…. HERE I AM

Okay. You’re reading this training and you might be totally broke or you might be pretty well off. You may be watching this in your van down by the river or you could be watching this at the library. I got a lot of people who watch me all over the place and you could say….
“My story’s gonna stop me but woe is me I’m in the library”
or it could be like….
“I’m in a damn library. I got books behind me. I got all the knowledge in the world. I could go get books about wedding design and I can learn about wedding design and I could make a website about wedding design right here in this damn library. I could make it happen.”
I have students who have made it happen from the library because they didn’t even have internet access at a home that they lived in that was shared with other people.

What happens if you can’t make the live sessions?
We actually have a private member’s area blog where we post all of the live trainings. So you’ll get the trainings and then there’s a download and you can actually download the mp4 sound like my other trainings, where you just get the video. You can actually download it and we also make notes on it so you can watch it as many times as you want, which is cool.

You don’t have to be there live or anything but what we do is that before the class starts, i ask everyone the best time. They use a little survey type thing and we get the best time and we use that.

How much time to devote daily to it?
I would say 45 minutes – 2 hours. If you go over 2 hours, you probably get into info overload range which is why a lot of you guys are struggling right now. If you can focus 2 hours on dedicated stuff, that would be great. 45 minutes would be good also. That’s no problem. There have been a lot of people who do 45 minutes.
