Hey guys, it’s Marcus here, and today we are going to talk about how to get traffic fast, but not in the ways that other people talk about. We’re going to talk about a very specific method that will work if you do it. That’s right. You know that I am not one for guarantees. I practically guarantee that the average person makes nothing online because that’s the truth. But this is something a little bit different. This is something where if you do it long enough, you focus, and you look at where the traffic is at, you can get traffic. And as we know, traffic equals money.
So let’s talk about how to get this thing rocking and rolling so that you can get traffic. Today I’m going to show you live exactly how I find 30 different article ideas, 30 different content ideas. That’s right. If you’re using YouTube, if you’re blogging, if you’re doing Instagram, Facebook, whatever it is, this is going to show you how to align your content with what people are searching for, what people are doing, what is actually working already, keep that in your mind and how to get the traffic.
So if you stay to the end, this is what you’re going to learn, but you got to make sure you smash that like button if you like this stuff, because in today’s profitable content ideas, we got a good lineup for you. Part number one, we are going to look at competitor sites, channels in your niche. Part number two, what we’re going to do is we’re going to compile a list of reachable keywords or titles. Part number three, I’m going to show you how to turn that list into headlines. And part number four, I’m going to show you how to outsource or create content in a really, really simple way. So we’re going to go through, we’re going to make this work, we’re going to make some stuff happen. If you’re excited about this smash a like button and let’s dive right in.
Now, what we’re going to do here is we are going to take a look at a site that I’ve kind of let by the wayside, it’s my poor, little neglected website called Nerd Getting Fit. I’ve been going through a lot of stuff the past couple months. I have not been on my game today is probably one of the culmination days of a lot of that. And it’s very difficult to do this stream, but I’m going to try to get through it as much as possible. But I thought I should level with you. So what we’re going to do today is we’re going to look at this poor, little neglected site, which I’ve been neglecting, but it’s actually getting rankings. This is a site that I asked you guys which one I should go for. I picked about 10 different sites. I said, “Which one do you want me to build out?” That way, it wasn’t something I knew I could go and make money. And it was something you guys chose.
So I bought the domain, I set it up. We started getting rankings. Some rankings are dropping a little bit, which is natural, especially because I haven’t done much on it. But what we’re going to do today is we’re going to talk about something that I read and learned about, which is the idea of massive content. Now up until a couple months ago, I thought that putting massive content on your site was kind of a bad thing. What are we going to do? We’re going to have all this content on our site. The search engines are going to be like, “What the heck are you doing?” And maybe it’s not going to work that good. But I actually heard some things recently, and from what I’ve seen, putting a lot of content out within the first month is actually a good thing. Now on this site, you guys can see here, if I go over to Google and search for this site, I will do site, colon, nerdgettingfit.com.
Like this. And you could see here that I don’t have a lot of stuff. Anything that has something after it is an old page, like muscle building archive. It doesn’t exist. So the ones that I had recently, if you go through and you do tools, and you do, let’s say, past month. In the past month, I’ve really only put up three posts. So there’s not a whole lot going on. However, when you look at this, we’re ranking for, I think it said 750 words or something like that. 763. All right. So 763 rankings in Google for keywords that people search for based on a niche I know I can make money on. So when we look at this, and we look at how long to get a six pack… And they’re talking about stomach abs. I don’t think they’re talking about other up because that’s actually pretty easy to get.
I know. I used to be an alcoholic. So those were pretty easy to get. But we’re going to look at this. And they’re looking to get stomach abs. And so we go here and we see that my site does in fact rank in Google. I think we’re on the second page right now or something like that for this term. And what you’ll see here is that this actually gets traffic. This actually works. You go through and you make it happen. There we are. We’re on page three. So it’s fluctuating a little bit and we’re going to see how that works. Now, the idea here is take a look at this and understand, “Okay, how do I take a site like this?” Or if you’re a YouTuber, “How do I take my channel and make it grow?” Or if you are doing Instagram or whatever it is, we need to pattern things after the way people search and what’s actually working.
Because unless you’re like the host of the tonight show, no one’s showing up to see your content. I mean, I got quite a few people on my mailing list, but the turnout on the live show isn’t as big as it could be. However, we need to look at why people watch certain things and why they don’t watch certain things. We need to see why people look at certain content and why they don’t look at certain content. And we need to see what is working. Because so many people trying to do affiliate marketing and internet marketing, they’re going out there and they’re trying to push this big boulder are uphill by trying to reinvent the wheel and figure out what’s going to be the new, great thing. Well, that may or may not be good, but we need to understand what’s going on.
When a TV producer decides to make a show, they look at what worked in the past. Hands down. They’re still looking at like, “Okay, I Love Lucy worked. Maybe this kind of comedy works.” Or whatever. So we need to understand what’s going on. Now, what we’re going to do to make this happen, whether again, you’re looking for content ideas for YouTube, Instagram, blogging, newsletter, what it is, pattern after what I’m about to show you and you will get results. Now, you might not get stellar results on the first one, but that’s why we put it out, so that we can learn. See here, I don’t have stellar results, but we’re doing okay. So we’re looking at this and we’re starting to understand what’s going on. Now, what we want to do is we want to take our niche. So take a niche, take a website, take whatever it is.
And we have to look at this and we have to say, “Okay, we have these keywords. We have what’s going on.” So you take a site or you take something in your niche. Let’s say, for example, you’re in the relationship niche. Find some sites that are about relationships only. Don’t use Psych Today or psychology or whatever. I mean, those are good sites, but not for our specific example. What we want to do is want to find people who are doing similar things. So the first thing you want to do is go out there and look at the competitors, make a list of them. Five, 10, 15, whatever competitors you got. Make sure they’re narrow competitors. I don’t want body building Joe. I want the guy who’s teaching how to do dead lifts, or free weights, or bench press. I want something specific. This is very important.
You can go broad later, but for now go specific, because you need to get audience before you could even go broad. This is stuff you got to understand, because if you don’t, you’re going to be pushing that boulder up the hill and it’s going to be very difficult. So what I’m doing with Nerd Getting Fit, and if you enjoy this smash that like button, what I’m doing with Nerd Getting Fit is I use a AH Refs, which is this tool here, and I also use SEM rush, which is tool here. Now what I’m going to do is I’m going to go through and I’m going to look at the comparative competitors. I’m going to hit view details. What this is going to do is it’s going to show me at a glance. Now, if you don’t have this tool, no problem. All you’re going to do is take your number one keyword that you want.
I don’t want weight loss. That’s not my niche. My niche is getting abs. So I’m going to take this keyword. I’m going to search it in Google and I’m going to do this manually. Do I want Great List? No. That’s a big list about everything. It’s not specific. Do I want Nutrition? Yeah, maybe. Healthline, too big. Medicine, too big. Live Strong, too big, too big, way too big. We got all the infinite fitness pro. Yes. I’ll take that one. Let’s take a look at some others. Quora, too big. All right. What we’re going to do is we’re going to take a list of sites. If you were in this niche, you’d use Nerd Getting Fit. You’d use Legion. You’d use Body Building Meal Plan. Do you see how these are very specific? If you’re seeing that, let me know in the comments, because these are very specific and they’re very on point.
And a lot of people are like, “Well, I want to grow on YouTube. What’s Mr. Beast doing?” Well, Mr. Beast gets 50 gazillion views on every video, so trying to compete with him out of the gate is not going to be very wise. So what we need to do is we need to figure out something narrow that we can start with and go bigger. You look at PewDiePie, Mr. Beast, all these guys, they started with gaming and little things that they knew they can get traffic in and they did it long enough to where it worked. You even look at SEO. We look at SEO and people think, “Oh, ranking on the search engines is really cute, and nice, and funny, Marcus, but you know, it’s not really a business.” Well, tell that to Amazon, because when Amazon started, he went out and he said, “I could sell anything.”
Which is what he does. He’s like, “I could sell anything online.” But what he did is he said, “I’m going to sell books because I know books will get traffic because people look up books. I will build that. And then I’ll build my business for the future.” Pay attention, because we understand exactly what’s going on. Very, very important. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to put a list of our competitors or use a tool. We can see here. This does a decent job. Some of them are going to be way too out, but this does a good job.
Now what I did is I took some of these and I said, “Okay, how many keywords do they have, and are they comparable to my site which is fairly new to me.” Well, yeah, I think some of these are. I think some of these are, are pretty simple. Now what I did with this is I actually went through and I downloaded from eight of them, I think, right? A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Seven of them. There we go. I’ve got to count. There we go. But we look at this and I got seven different competitor sites, and I went through and I took all the keywords that they rank for that are under five competition. Pretty cool, right? So if I take this list here and I’m like, “Go -”
Pretty cool, right? So if I take this list here, and I’m like, “Okay, this is under five competition. I got 826 words.” I think that’s given me a bunch of content to go off. Right? So what we could do is we could go to our keyword explorer and put in all 800 words, and we can get an estimate of what kind of traffic we’re looking at. So, if I nailed all these words, I’m looking at almost three quarters of a million visitors a month.
Now, can you make money with that? Yeah. Well, let’s take out some of these, because these two, five and 10, that’s not a keyword. All right. So I think the tool just kind of knocked those out. So, subtract 200 from that. So we’re at about 480, about a half a million searches a month with pretty much everything low competition.
Now, what we need to do is we need to look at this and understand exactly what’s going on, and we need to position our content in a way that meets what they’re doing on the platform we want to be on. Wait a minute, Marcus, that doesn’t make any sense. What are you talking about? Well, what we need to do is we need to look at the platform. If you’re doing YouTube, you’re going to have a different strategy. If you’re doing SEO, different strategy. Instagram, different strategy. And what we’re going to do is we are going to let the platform tell us what to do. Okay?
So I go through and I take these keywords. So here’s site number one, all right, this is competitor number one, and I’m going to take these, and I’m going to get 30 pieces of content, and I’m going to talk about where I’m going to put them, what I’m going to do, how it’s going to work, everything like that. And I’m also going to turn them into topics. Okay? Very, very important, because the topic is everything. All right. If you get the topic wrong, you’re probably not going to get traffic.
All right, so what we’re going to do, part one, we look at competitor sites, channels in our niche. Now, I downloaded them all in Excel file, because I thought that was easy to go through and say, “Hey, what do I want from this guy? What do I want from this guy? What do I want here?” Okay? Very important. So we’re taking a look at that. We’re like, okay, next, we are going to compile a list of reachable keywords. Notice I said reachable. If I go here and I do a keyword explorer like this, and I go here and I do something like workout, all right, this is not reachable. 71, difficult. It’s not reachable. Even the big list, there’s not a lot of reachable stuff here, so we got to do a different strategy. I mean, look at this. It’s super competitive. Right? You might be able to do this, but that’s a specific product. Okay?
So we’re going to look at this and we’re going to say, “Okay, what are we looking at here?” So we’re going to compile this list of reachable words. So let’s take a look at number A and see what we want. Now, what I’m looking for is what is the intent, what can I do with it, and if I had all that traffic, what would I expect to make? All right? So this guy looking up 12 pack abs, I don’t know if that’s even a thing. Right? I don’t know. I got one as so I got 11 to go, but I don’t even know if that’s a thing. So let’s see 12 pack. Let me do this off screen in case it’s something weird, because sometimes stuff on the internet is weird. So yes, people are looking up “Are 12 pack abs possible” and it looks like they are, but they’re not all abs they’re like other stuff. So interesting, we’ll look at that and say maybe. Do I want to do something with that? Are they actually looking to get the six pack abs? Probably not.
So let’s do maybe, why do you weigh less in the morning? Lose a hundred pounds in three months. Okay, good. So we’ll go to this and be like, “Okay, I lose a hundred pounds in three months. That seems a little outlandish, but let’s take a look at what we got.” We got some ads. Interesting. We got something here, Healthline, we got a YouTube. All right. We got some other YouTubes. Men’s Health, Quora, Reddit, Pinterest, Reference, Amazon. Okay, good. So I’m going to go through this. I’ll be like, “Hey. Yeah, this is a good word, because these people actively want to lose a hundred pounds in three months. Good.”
Now what do we got? We got YouTube. We got Pinterest, PT. All right. We got, what else do we got? We got Reddit. Okay. And we got Reference, Amazon. I could put Amazon, because what I think of as a business person is like, “Okay, Amazon ranks. So if I could make a book, if I’m totally into this niche, I could make a book about how to lose a hundred pounds in three months. I could put it on Amazon and boom. Now I’m on the top of Google.”
Did everyone get that? That should be an aha moment. If not, watch this again. This is a video you’re going to want to watch at least one time all the way through.
So here we go. We got a thousand searches a month for that. And a competition is pretty nonexistent.
I think we’re okay. Now another one we got here, we got, let’s see how many calories does a hundred pushups burn? 300 pushups a day. How many pushups should you do? So on this, I’m looking at this and I’m like, “Okay, it’s pushups.” So I’m thinking in terms of like, “Yeah, I get a couple of these.” Right? So I’ll do something like how many calories does a hundred pushups burn. Okay, good. So we’ll use that as our main keyword. Look it up in Google, do the same thing. How many calories does a hundred pushups burn? Livestrong, 30 Day Fitness, Quora, calories, burn calories, and we got related searches. Okay, so not a whole lot going on here, which is pretty good. That means we could, like if you did a YouTube video, that would probably work really well. Right? And you’re like, “Well, Marcus, I don’t know how to make a video.” Well, you can go do some pushups, and wear a little calorie counter, and see how many push, “Hey today, guys, we’re going to show you how many calories …” Obviously be safe and make sure you can do the hundred pushups and you’re in a healthy place to do it, but I want you to know that this works for any niche.
So we go through and we’re like, “Okay, good. We got that. Let’s put that on there. Okay.” Pretty much nothing here looks like mostly we got Reddit, or I think we had Quora on this one, Quora, and just basic SEO. All right. And then we got about 800 searches a month, so it’s pretty good. Now, what we’re going to do is we’re going to keep going and we’re going to find some others, all right?
So we’ll go through, and for sake of time, I will try to get as many as we can. If we don’t make it to the full 30, we’ll probably do another video. All right? So we got A, where did A go?
If you guys are digging this, let me know. Type something in the box. Let me know in the comments, all that fancy stuff. Okay, so we got that, and we got A. So a had A a lot of related stuff to the pushups. So, we can look at this and be like, “Okay, pull-ups every day, drawn on six pack.” Yeah, that’s not commercially intent. I mean, six month workout plan. Boom. I like it. That’s a good one. I’ll bet you PDFs are going to come up and stuff. Right? So we’ll have images. We got videos, we got different articles. Pretty good. All right. So yeah, I’m definitely going to take that one. Okay. Six month workout plan, and then what did we have on that? We had some YouTube, Quora, and some SEO.
So we’ll just go through like this and we’re going to get some good results and some good ideas. And when you do this, you’re never going to run out of content ideas, because what I’m about to show you next is going to be really, really eye opening. Okay? So here we got all these. We could get a couple others, but I want to show you how the other sites look, because sometimes you get junk or whatever, like this one. People are looking up jiggly booty. I really can’t do a whole lot with that, but we could do something like knee wraps for squats. That’s that’s actually pretty good. Probably going to get a lot of Amazon. How many crunches a day? How much does a curl bar weigh? How much does a hex bar? So what we want is something simple. Barbell hack squat. Okay. Sumo deadlift high pull. Okay? These are people looking for this stuff, and when I do this, I’m going to go through and I’m going to take a look at these, and try to make your list here.
Now, when I do these, I’m thinking in terms of what can I do to get in front of these people? Because I got 4,000 people looking up the sumo pull thing. All right, we got YouTube, we got CrossFit, muscle, fitness, we got images. We got related stuff. We got more videos. Now, when I do this, I’m going to go over to the YouTube and I’m going to search for it. I’m going to be like, okay, sumo, lift 293, 159, 256. What I’m going to do is I’m going to look at the content and try to come up with something. So if I was going to do this example, I got high pull, high pull, high pull. Okay, so high pull is definitely the thing. Let’s do sumo deadlift. All right. We got most effective way, the right way, definitive guide, form fixes, how to do.
So, what do I see here? Well, I see, okay, well I got sumo deadlift high pull. So when I go to make my title for this content, I’m going to try to include things that other people do, because I know that that’s working. Okay? So glute focused, how to do the sumo deadlift, how to sumo. Okay, good. So how that’s a big one. We got the right way and the definitive guide. so I would do a title that I could use for SEO and/or YouTube. And I’d be how, let’s do sumo deadlift high pull guide – simple how to.
Now, what I’m going to do is I’ll probably have an image or something that says wrong or right. Like that’s good, right? She’s got the wrong or right there. That’s a pretty darn good one, which is why she’s got 800,000 views on that. Right? Here’s another one, the best way. Hey, this is the best way. Don’t do this, do this. So when we look at that, I’m going to try to think of how I can make this content work for both YouTube, Instagram, and content on myself site. Okay? So sumo deadlift high pull guide – simple how to. Simple, you could even say-
Simple how to. You could even say, best guide. Okay? That’ll throw another keyword in there because what you want to do is you want to show up when people are searching for other stuff. Now, we’re also going to want to go through, when we do content, and we’re going to do a deep research on each and every keyword. And again, think about this. People say, “I don’t know what to write about.” Well, now you do because you’ll never run out of stuff. So we’ll just do Sumo deadlift, boom. We go here and we’re like, okay, cool. 33,000 form, hypo, how to. So the word forms pretty good. So you could do something like Sumo deadlift hypo best guide, proper form. Boom. Here we go. That would work because now I’m tackling two keywords, three keywords.
I got the YouTube strategy going on and what I’m going to do, I’m going to outsource the content or write it myself. It’s not that hard to do. Just go figure out how to do this. Go to the gym, pay a personal trainer to show you how to do this, take some notes and write your article, or research it, or hire someone to write your article, whatever it is. Very simple.
Now, what we’re going to do is we’re going to take a look at some of these keywords here and we’re going to try to include these in our article. Okay? Very simple. Now, you can even go and say, “Hey, you know what? I’m going to make another piece of content on Sumo deadlift versus conventional.” I’ll bet there’s people getting traffic. There you go. 451,000. You got 1900, 1.4 million. So now we’re seeing this and we’re like, wait a minute, Marcus. This opens up a whole new can of stuff that we can make content on. Sorry. I’m not in the mood to be funny today. I’m just getting down to business, but here we go.
We’re going to go through and we’re going to make this work and be like, okay, there we go. Six month workout plan. What am I going to do? Sample six month workout plan that gets results. Boom. Okay. What would the image look like? Well, it’d be like maybe a before and after or a picture of the plan or what people do wrong or whatever. How many calories does 100 pushups burn? That’s going to be pretty simple. I would do, how many calories does 100 pushups burn? That’s going to be my keyword. For my image, I would probably do something like before 600 calories, after 1,908 calories burned or whatever it is that’s true and fits the market. Lose 100 pounds in three month. I would do something like, is it possible? And stuff like that.
So I would also go like lose 100 pounds and see what else comes up for just the word lose 100 pounds. And when you go through and you do this method, you are always going to find stuff no matter what. So how much does the bar weigh? How many crunches a day? How long does pre-workout take to kick in? That’s a great question. Why does pre-workout make you itchy? I don’t know. I’ll figure that out. I got to do some searches on that. Okay. What is considered tall for a man or a woman? Well, I know I’m not tall. I’m like five feet on a good day, but that’s why my minibike looks like a full on Harley because I’m not the size of a Harley rider.
But at any rate, we look at this and we got, how long does it take to get a tan? I don’t want that. So what we’re doing is we’re going through and we’re going to make this stuff work and we’re going to focus. Okay. How much does the machine bar weigh? Leg and shoulder work out. So we’re going to go through and we’re going to find all this stuff and we’re going to turn it into the articles. If we take site number C or letter C as it were, do sit ups burn belly fat? Good there. There’s all kinds of stuff here. How to get ripped? Lean muscle versus bulk. We’re going to go through and we’re going to take the stuff that we want and we are going to focus on our niche.
Do sit ups burn belly fat? Find out here. Make it really easy, and also keep in mind that if you are outsourcing this content, you want to give them a good direction. Give them a good direction. So I would say, do sit ups burn belly fat? Learn how this works here, or 10 things you can do to increase the likelihood that sit ups would burn belly fat. And again, remember your job is to do a good job. When I make a video, I want to do a good job and give you guys good stuff. So that you’re like, “Hey, I want to watch Marcus’ stuff because he always gives me good stuff that I like.” And that’s the key to making this work. That’s the key to making this happen. Okay.
We also have like half life of different workout drinks, all kinds of stuff, CrossFit gloves, best shoes for jumping rope, all kinds of stuff, planks, all kinds of stuff, lower back pain after deadlift. So we’re looking at this and we’re going to go through and we’re going to pick out the keywords that we want and we’re going to use them. Okay. So whatever it is we want, I got to think, skinny to thick transformation. All right. That’s probably a guy who’s not ripped and he wants to get ripped. And so we can give him some stuff that works. Okay. Very simple. Very easy. We don’t want to overthink this.
Okay. So we’re going to go through, look at that benefits of eating raw eggs to body building. Okay, that’s a good one. So I’d be like, Hey, raw eggs aren’t exactly the safest thing because of the old germs and stuff that are on the raw eggs. So maybe check out this workout supplement that does better. Okay. Is everyone getting it? Let me know you’re getting it by smashing the like button and letting me know in the comments that this is in fact making sense to you and this is something that you can go do. We got seven so far and then benefits of eating raw. So I would do raw eggs versus. I’d do raw eggs versus, and see, okay, maybe they’re looking up like raw eggs versus pre-workout, protein. So interesting stuff there. It kind of gives you what’s in the mind.
Could you include male and female workouts? You could separate it. If it was me, I’d probably isolate it depending on what the keywords look like. Now, if it’s a lot of overlap, I’d just do one site for both, but it kind of looks different. Okay. So we’ll look at that and we’re like, okay, cool. So we’re going to compile that. We’re going to turn our list into headlines. We’ll find some more. It’s not that hard to do. You’re just, hey, this is what people are looking for. If you get burnout, it’s because you’re not looking at the list. All right. It’s really not that hard to do, coffee versus pre-workout. Boom. Okay.
And again, look at what’s out there. Why is it not copying? Coffee versus pre-workout. Boom. All right. And we would look at this in the old Google, say what’s going on? Okay. We got some kind of book, some images, workout meal plans. So this is actually a pretty simple one. It’s got some recipes. All right. So I’m thinking, yeah, a video would probably dominate this. There’s a video there. I would go and see what kind of views those videos are getting and be like, okay, well, what’s going on? So you got the anabolic guy. Yeah. These are getting pretty decent views. That’s a good one there. That’s a really good, one quarter of a million views on that. That’s pretty darn good. And you got to remember, that’s where it’s at.
Now, notice how we are patterning after what people are searching for. I’m not guessing. I’m not sitting there thinking, “Oh, hey buddy, what am I going to work on today?” No. When I make a video about making money with Google news or making money with Google spreadsheets or whatever it is, I’m doing that because that’s where the traffic’s at. I go and I am constantly having my finger on the pulse of what other people are doing. Now, I look at it a little different because I want to do ethical, good stuff. I don’t want to just be like, hey, here’s a new website that makes money that I haven’t tested. I just want views. No. I want to give you guys real stuff that you can use. I want to give you guys real content and real stuff that is going to make you keep coming back for more because that’s the name of the game.
Now, sometimes you might just do a one off, coffee versus pre-workout. Maybe you’re not going to build a list. Maybe you’re just going to do a one off. But when you look at this, notice how this is because for most of you guys, 30 pieces of content is more than like a month of content, and I know it is for me. I don’t post a piece of content every day. I don’t. I wish I could, but right now I’m lucky to get one a week out, which is why everyone was worried about me last week. But you got to look at this and understand, hey, this is going to give me a lot of stuff. If I get 100 of them, that’s what’s going to work.
Marriott says, “I watched your Etsy video to learn how to sell products.” Exactly. Why did I do the Etsy video? I’ve never sold anything on Etsy, but I know that the principle is the same and the traffic is there. Another one I’m going to do is low content books. Why? People are watching that stuff. You go here and you look at it and it’s like, okay, low content book. Okay. That’s what people are searching for. Therefore, I am going to make the content on what they’re searching for. Okay. Low content books. Boom. There we go. Very simple. Okay. And I’m going to turn that in the headline. So what would I do there? Low content book niches. 47 untapped niches or whatever. And I would go through and I’d look at low content book. I’d put it in here. I’d look at what other people are doing.
Let’s do low content book niches or something like that. So 32,000, 117. This is what I’m looking at. I’m looking at this and I’m like, hey, that’s what people are getting traffic in. So obviously I’m going to do that. So I’m tailoring my content after what people are naturally looking up anyway. Does that make sense? Are you guys getting it because this’ll change the way you do things online. I see people all the time, they got a thousand videos, they got 14 views, and the reason is they’re not looking at it specifically. They’re not looking at it specifically. They’re not going out there and taking.
… They’re not looking at it specific. They’re not going out there and taking a look at what is going on in their niche. They’re just kind of winging it, and I don’t wing it. When I do something I want as little waste as possible. I want to know I can get ranked. I want to know I’m going to get traffic. I want the best shot possible of getting these things to go out there, and get lots of traffic, because that’s, what’s going to make me money.
And when I do something like this, where I’m looking at these different sites. Okay. This one was kind of terrible. It didn’t have a whole lot of rankings. How much does a six pack weigh? That’s not what we want. Okay. Maybe we want this next one. So we got cable kickbacks, incline, dumbbell, curl… Cable kickbacks. That’s pretty interesting. Pre-workouts all kinds of things. So we got all kinds of stuff. And what we’re going to do is we’re just going to start to list these out. And then I’m going to make content on them. But what content Marcus? Well, what did we see in the search engine? Was it YouTube? Was it this, was it that?
If I go out there and I’m like… Okay, I’m looking up, let’s say we’re looking up. I don’t know. Let’s do this here. Give me a second. I’m going to see if this example will work. Yeah. So this here. Okay. If I was going for best Amazon pre-workout. You got ads up here. Six months ago, 2000 views, 3000 a year ago. This is broad. This is broad. So I probably wouldn’t go the Amazon route, maybe. I mean, maybe if I get that, I think we had some traffic for it. So I’d have to decide, is it worth a YouTube or is this one that I just want to rank for? So very, very important. Very simple.
Okay. Does that make sense to everyone? Hopefully it’s making sense. And then what we’re going to do, is if I was going to go for a pre Amazon workout, I’d do best pre-Amazon workouts for this or that, or whatever. And it’s very simple. And what you’re going to do is you’re going to let the market define it. Now where most people struggle is they don’t know how to define their niche. This is a number one problem. I’ve been doing this for 21 years. I can do this stuff with my eyes closed. Not because I’m great, just because I’ve been doing it 21 years. If you’ve done something for 21 years, you’re probably pretty good at it, too.
And so I go out there and I’m like, “okay, how am I going to tailor this to the niche? How am I going to look at my niche and make sure it’s the right one?” Well, one of the things we do is we actually have a course, which is one of the courses, my most successful students historically have picked, is High Ticket Niches.com, where I find the niche. Like this one here, The Nerd Getting Fit. This is what we do. I go through, I find a domain. I find a niche. We work it all around the stuff that’s already there, already working, already getting traffic. And we are not guessing. I’m not making content because I want to. I’m making it because that’s what people look up. I’m making it because that’s what people are watching.
So what I need to do is adapt my strategy to what is happening. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel and push that thing up the hill. No, no, no. I want to take my strategy, and I want to fit it to what’s already going on. I want to fit it to what’s already working. What are people already searching for? Then I’m going to go through and I’m going to outsource and create content based on my titles. And I can say, “Hey, this is how I want to work it. This is what I want to do. This is how I want my strategy to go. And now I have it all laid out.” And when you wake up in the morning and you have a list like this of 30 or 50, or in my case, hundreds of ideas, you’re going to go through and you know the ideas based on traffic, you know the stuff is based on things that work, and now you can’t help but make content with a data driven decision rather than just deciding, “Hey, this is what I want to do.”
Now, once you get a little bit bigger, and more traffic, and more viewers, and more of the other stuff, then you could go out there, and you start to do stuff that you want to do. Like sometimes I’ll make a video where I’m like, “Hey, I just want to share my idea of what I think about money.” Or, “I want to do this.” Or, “I want to do that.” And when you do that, then you have all kinds of stuff.
Now Paul says, “Are you using this content for Nerd Getting Fit?” Yes I am. So I do need to find a couple others. And we can go through and say, “Okay, cool. So now all I got to do is come up with these titles, order them, put them on the site and we’ll start to get some traffic.” Right? Does this make sense to everyone? Any questions on this? We got about 10 minutes, and then I got to head out. Okay. And then the last one was not a whole lot of stuff. Yeah. Not a whole lot of stuff there. Macros for that, lower traffic. So I’d probably go back and find my other 20 out of these. Okay?
Cool. Machine pullover alternative. So there you go. Like you could do like workout alternative. That would be a good one. Before and after, P90X, standing front raises. So you could do all kinds of stuff. And no matter what niche you’re in, this works. You say, okay… the only niches it doesn’t work in is if you’re so refined that there’s no, what I call taper. The taper is when I go through and I’m like… Let’s take a keyword, like calf raises. So for calf raises, I’ll go through and I’m… Does it taper? Well the taper is 40, 3700, 2900. Yeah. So on the first page, we’re still at a hundred. And we’re down at the bottom. Now when it tapers you would do something like… It’d be 40,000 and then 50. That would be a bad taper.
Now that might be good for paid traffic, but for free traffic, you’re going to be dead in the water there. It’s not going to work. Will I be putting an offer on each of these articles? Of course, absolutely. Marcus, do you look for offers then for the keywords? Or do you look first for keywords, then find products? I find the niche first. And then I find products for the niche. And then I decide if I want to go for it or not. That’s the best way to go about it because I want to make data driven decisions, and looking at offers. I mean, sure. You can get paid to do damn near anything from a CPA network, but I want to make sure that I have traffic for it that’s going to want that stuff.
Your title will be different on your site compared to a YouTube video. Yes. Yeah. So if I do calf raises, on SEO, I’m probably going to do squat calf raises, or donkey, because four and zero… I kind of like the zero. I like the zero and eight. But again, I’m going to look it up and see what’s going on. But if I was going to do the title for YouTube, I would do calf raises, and I would try to be… Force calfs, a thousand… I’m going to try to include some of the keywords and some of the title tags that are in there. Again, we don’t want to copy. We’re just looking at it and saying, what else are other people doing? And what are people watching? Very, very simple.
Danny says, “Are you using the sites that you have chosen as an outline for the body of articles as a guide for the outsource?” No. I go through, I have a process. I have another video on how I make content. It’s in the description of this video. That’ll show you how I do that.
FM. I get this question all the time. What is the minimum traffic volume for a keyword to be worth your while? Depends on what you’re getting paid. All right. So raw eggs versus cooked. Maybe, or maybe not commercially intent… Can I sell stuff? So I probably need more traffic. Now, if I’m going for something like refinance, then maybe I’ll want something different. Or I could get by with less traffic. Would you combine all the keywords into one article? Probably not. You always state that $5 ads are good start, but for how many dats should we run them? So if you’re looking for your first commission, I usually run 100 clicks. So it’s not an amount, if your traffic makes sense, and it makes sense to run paid traffic, which if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it. Go learn about it and then do it. Because you can lose money.
But with paid traffic, I want to run a hundred clicks, or 300 clicks to see what happens. Am I going to get a sale? Am I not? Very important. Darren, “Can you explain how you got the spreadsheet list? Did you just export the whole Ahrefs?” I went through. I found my competitors. I found the ones that I wanted. All right. I put them in Ahrefs. I did five competition or less. And then I exported them for every site, all the competitor sites. And that’s pretty much what you do.
