It seems like these boxes are taking over the world. Today what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna talk exactly about how to make money with affiliate marketing with Amazon. The good, the bad, and the ugly and if you can turn a profit and we’re starting right now. Hey guys, it’s Marcus here from affiliatemarketingdude.com and welcome inside. Today we are gonna talk about how to make money with the Amazon Affiliate Program. We’re gonna talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly and you can see I’ve got a lot of big numbers on the board that we’re gonna go through as well that have to do with your profits. Is it a good way to make money for beginners or even for people that are advanced who have traffic already? So lets first talk about the good things about the Amazon Affiliate Program. Everyone knows about Amazon, I think everyone’s gotten a shipment by Amazon by now and we all know that it’s good, it’s popular, it’s great and it’s cheap right, so everyone loves it. So lets talk about this and how it works with affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing Amazon has what’s known as an Affiliate Program. That means you can sign up as an Amazon Affiliate, get a special link, sell products through your website. You don’t even have to ship them, they just go to Amazon and buy stuff and you get paid. So literally all you have to do is take your traffic, send them to a link and Amazon handles the rest and sends you a check and we’re gonna show you how that works. So the good part here is that Amazon is easy, easy right? It’s easy, that means everyone knows Amazon. So the conversion rate’s great. They know that hey, they’re gonna get the delivery on time, they know it’s a trusted source, so it’s an easy converter. Another thing is it’s a big program. Big, it’s huge, it has tons of products. I can find one little weird product that some weird group of people likes and I can sell it and make good money because it works really well. So it’s easy, it’s big, it’s structured. It’s well-known. And it has high-priced stuff, so it’s got lots of money here, okay? Amazon is making millions and millions and millions of dollars a day, hundreds of billions of dollars a year and the owner of Amazon or the guy who started Amazon is now the richest person on the planet. So, there’s a lot of money at stake here. Now what is the bad side? We can go, we can sign up at Amazon, we can get a link and we can promote hundreds of millions of products or however many products are on Amazon, and we can get paid, right? It seems great, we’re tapping into a $100 billion plus pie, that is a pie. I don’t even know if I can finish that pie and I like pie. So we gotta look at this. We say hey that’s cool, I can tap into it. Now what are the downsides here? The downsides are that it pays really low. So if you sell something that’s like $1,000, chances are you’re gonna get between four and 8% commission. That might sound pretty good, you’re like dude, I sell something for $1,000 and I get between 40 and $80, that sounds pretty good to me. If I can sell 10 things a day, I could make myself like 500 grand a year or something like that or little bit less than that. I think it’d be like 250 grand a year if my math is correct. All right so that looks pretty good, it’s like hey check it out, I can make money. Now in the affiliate marketing world, the numbers game is very important. What we’re looking for is a number called CPM okay? How much are you making per thousand visitors. This is a very, very important question okay? So we’re gonna put 1,000 up here because we need to know what we are making on 1,000 visitors. For example, if I have my website and I send 1,000 people to Amazon, how many are gonna order and how much money do I make? So if I send 1,000 people to this product, let’s say I’m selling I don’t know, like a camera or something like that. I think I have a camera around here, we’ll find it for effect. Or let’s say I’m selling a laptop. Hopefully not this laptop ’cause this is the one I threw in the pool. All right so this laptop here, let’s say we’re selling this and it costs a $1,000. So we’ve got like a Toshiba laptop, okay? And this Toshiba laptop let’s say its a $1,000. Now if I send 1,000 people to this laptop link, my Amazon Affiliate link, how much am I going to make? Well let’s say we get a 1% conversion rate. 1% conversion rate would mean that out of the people who come there, I am now getting 10 sales, 10 sales okay? So 1,000 people, 10 sales, that means I am making probably around $400. Or $400 CPM, okay? That’s what you would make on your thousand clicks. Pretty cool, so we look at this, we’re like okay, so I make $400 on my clicks which means each click that I send to Amazon is worth, math brains, 40 cents. Boom, there’s your target number. Now here’s the problem. The problem is if I go bid on cheap laptop, big laptop, small laptop, Toshiba laptop, fast laptop, slow laptop, cheap laptop, whatever, The amount of traffic it’s going to take and the amount it’s going to cost, if I go to Google and I bid on this traffic, it’s probably gonna cost me about 80 cents to 120 cents or $1.20 right? I can’t talk today. $1.20 per click. That means how much am I spending CPM? I am spending 800 to $1200 to get that traffic. If it cost me $1200 to get 1,000 clicks and I only make $400 on that, this is what we call bad, crappy business. No, don’t do it. Okay now there are methods to get free traffic and that’s all great and that’s all wonderful but how would you feel if you got the free traffic and you were making 400 bucks when you could be making 1200, not real fun right? So this is one of the downsides. Now again there’s lots of stuff, it’s really cool. There’s a lot of affiliate programs out there. There’s a lot of offers on Amazon and it’s very important to look at because sometimes you’re gonna go into a market. Like let’s say you’re going into a market, I remember when my kids were really young, my wife was like hey, I want to get some toys like I had when I was a kid and she found these things called Calico Critters. Calico, and the Calico Critters were pretty cool. it was like hey check it out, these are neat, they’re little toys and yay, they’re wonderful and she went and spent a fortune on these Calico Critters. She was like I gotta get the exact box I used to have. And so now as an affiliate marketer, the Calico Critters keywords are very inexpensive and you can get a lot of free traffic really really cheap and you could set up YouTube videos and play with the toys, you could go and find traffic about like the bunnies and the little bunnies and the little houses and everything and you can get traffic really inexpensive and that’s good, or you could get it free. Now, there’s no other affiliate program in the world that really has Calico Critters. Maybe there’s one or two but Amazon is probably the best because everyone sells on Amazon and everyone knows Amazon, so they’re gonna buy it. So if you have a niche market like Calico Critters or perhaps some kind of baseball card niche or perhaps something very refined, Amazon is your way to go, awesome okay? With the computer stuff it might be a little bit different. Sometimes you might be able to sell like these little headphones I got on Amazon or this microphone I got and things like that and that’ll work too, but you have to have a very refined niche because the amount you’re gonna make is very very low and we’re gonna talk about that in the ugly part. What I did before this video is I actually went through and looked at some of the Amazon top affiliate people who make a lot of money and I looked at their screenshots that they had and I took a look at how much they’re making per click and how much everything. So we’re gonna go through that. So the bad part of Amazon is the payout is really low, okay? Very bad part, we don’t want low payout, we don’t want to be making 40 cents and have to pay more for traffic or you know, whatever. And again these numbers are hypothetical. A lot of times they’re a lot less than this, okay? Now let’s take a look, right? It’s good if you have something and you’re beginning and you have a very refined niche and it’s very easy to get traffic and you don’t know how to monetize it, excellent, great. Now the bad part, low commission, we don’t like that. The ugly part is the really low commission that you’re gonna see because sometimes you might be able to go into this Calico Critter market, which again is gonna be a very very low CPM. It’s gonna be a very low earnings per click because of the fact that these things are cheap and you’re only getting 10% of something cheap. So like if I sell, you know, 100 bucks in Calico Critters a day and I’m getting 4% to 8%, I’m gonna make $8 on a good day. That’s gonna take me a lot of traffic to get those $8 because not everyone is going to buy and that’s what you’re gonna find out. I could go and find an affiliate program that has like a gift card or some kind of offer for toys or maybe some kind of opt-in thing or whatever and make a lot more, okay? Those are some things we can do and we talk about that here on my channel and you’re gonna want to subscribe for that. Now what you’re gonna see here is here is a guy that I took in the ugly portion and he had this screenshot about how he made, how he sold over $8 million in Amazon stuff as an affiliate. Now think about that for a minute. This dude sold more than $8 million worth of stuff from his traffic, right? So his traffic came to his site, the amount of traffic was 2,837,532. That’s a lot of traffic, right? People are struggling to get 1,000 visitors a month, let alone 2.8 million visitors. So he got 2.8 million visitors. He made eight million bucks in sales. Okay now that’s in sales, that’s how much was rang up at the old Amazon cash register and shipped out. Now the amount that he got was again four to 8%, so we’re gonna say the amount he got was approximately 400 to 500,000 bucks. 400 to 500 K. You might be saying well Marcus, hey bro, that’s pretty cool, you know? I’d like to get me some of that 500 K. But here’s the thing, 2.8 million. Now the 2.8 million number, it is very important to realize this because people don’t pay attention to this. In this number here, this is the number of people he sent to Amazon. Very important because if you watch my video, some of you will be smart and you’ll go to my website and you’ll check out my stuff at affiliatemarketingdude.com. Some of you will be even smarter and you’ll go to simplesitesbonus.com and pick up my course. But on this video, how many people are gonna watch it and not go to the link? Probably a pretty big number. That’s what’s happening here. So, in order to get those 2.8 million people to go to Amazon, he probably needed like 20 million people to come to his website, and it sounds like the gardeners are here. There’s a lot of things that make me not want to do this video today. We had all kinds of stuff going on but I’m making this because this is important, and you need to know it. So he had to get like 20 million visitors or more. That’s a 10% click-through rate, which is still pretty high, okay? So in order to generate that, what is his effective CPM? His effective CPM is less than 10 cents, 10 cents a click. Because we look at that and we’re like okay, 10 of these whatever you know, 10 click-throughs, lets do this the right way, hold on one second. So the amount he’s earning on 20 million visitors, so if he has 20 million visitors and he’s only making $500,000, his amount he’s earning per click is so low it’s not even funny. Now again, think of this because a lot of you guys that are watching this are not going to be able to generate 20 million visitors. It’s very, very difficult to do. One in a million are able to do it, right? So in order to do this, you’re either gonna have to have a lot of money or do a lot of work and for all that work, this is a very little amount of money. Now if you contrast that with some of the things that I’ve done online with the toolbars and the affiliate offers and everything like that, we usually get like on the low end 20 to 30 cents per click. So when we’re looking at this, this is way low and this is a targeted market. It should be way higher. You would do better if you were to make your Calico Critters site and you got a bunch of visitors to actually buy the Calico Critters wholesale and sell them or drop ship them. You’d do way better than this, okay? And that’s what we’re gonna talk about here. Let’s take a look at another one. We have 15,000 clicks generated $3809. So this guy got 15,000 visitors and he generated 3809. So that is a per Amazon click, for the amount of traffic he sent to Amazon, he was making what I think, if I was gonna do the math right that would be times what, three or something like that? Okay, so it’s like pennies per click right? So we look at that and we’re like wow, that sucks. Okay here’s another guy, this guy got 27,097 clicks to Amazon, he only made $790. That’s nothing, if I was gonna make those kinda numbers, I would have to hang up my hat and quit and go do something else for a living, right? So we gotta look at this objectively and we have to say what is the best way to make money online? Now if you’re in a niche that there’s nothing else to sell, maybe Amazon is the way to go. If you’re in a niche where you can be creative and make this work, then I’d like you to look at some other options and we have some other options here on this channel if you subscribe and check out the little videos we have for you on CPA affiliate marketing, affiliate programs, Offer Vault and things like that. You’re gonna learn all about it and we’ll put one of these videos after this that you can just click on and go to. But we look at this and we’re like 2700 or 27,000 clicks to Amazon making 700 bucks, how many clicks did he have to get to get those people to go to Amazon, 270,000? This is the kinda stuff that makes people quit affiliate marketing, that makes people think affiliate marketing doesn’t work because these things pay so low. So, what’s the verdict? Is Amazon the best way to go? Well, if you have no other option like the Calico Critter guy, probably the best way to go. If you do have other options, you can make a lot more money with different stuff. Today, what we’re going to do is talk about the biggest question that people have when it comes to making money online as an affiliate marketer and that is what niche do I go into? How do I know what to do? Do I go for something I’m passionate about? Do I go for something that’s competitive? Do I just pick one out of thin air? How do I find the right niche? We’re going to answer that question and we’re starting right now.

Right now, we’re going to talk about how to choose the niche. How do you choose the right niche market. What I want to do is I want to break it down because a lot of people get confused about this. There’s a lot of people out there that say, “Oh, well. You should go for something you’re passionate about.” Or, “You should go for something that you know a lot about.” Or, “You should go for something that has a lot of money or a lot of competition or no competition.” The things get really, really convoluted and there’s a lot of information overload that’s going on when we’re talking about this stuff. We’re going to break it down once and for all. Now, I want to you to know that this video is a portion of a video I’m creating for my Profit 2018 course. What I want to do here is I want to talk about how this works because you have several camps of people. For example, a lot of you guys know that I just recently got a puppy. We got this little puppy. It’s a great puppy. It’s our third puppy and it’s a wonderful puppy. We have them before. But puppies can be pain in the butt and they can be expensive. Now, a lot of people would say, “Well, a lot of people spend a lot of money on puppies. A lot of people spend a lot of money on dogs. Maybe that’s a good niche to go to.” Maybe it is. But what we want to do is we want to act like marketers. If you’re a marketer, I am guessing that you’re here, you have no idea what you want to market. You have no idea what niche you want to go into. You have no idea where to go. A lot of people are like this. Maybe you like puppies. Maybe you like horses. Maybe you like houses, or mortgages, or whatever.
What we want to do as a marketer, first and foremost, is we want to have curiosity, curiosity as to what the market wants. We can like things. We can be passionate about things and we can care about things all we want but we’re going to end up like that guy on Shark Tank who’s like, “Hey, I built this product that looks really good and no one really wants it.” We got to really let the market dictate what we want and what we go into.
Let’s take a look at this and let’s break it down. My favorite place, and hopefully our cameraman finds us here, my favorite place to find niche markets is always using the Google Keyword Tool. For those of you that don’t know what the Google Tool is, the Google Keyword Tool is like the backdoor of Google. It’s going to go through and it’s going to share with us what people search for on Google, which is really important. This is really good. Because if people are actively searching for something, that means that they want it. That means there’s a market there. That means there’s a desire. The essence of marketing is creating desire. Desire. I desire to spell right. The essence of marketing is creating desire.
If you go out there and you try to pick what you want, or what you think the market wants, or what you think is good, or what you think is important, it doesn’t matter. As a marketer, it doesn’t matter what I think. I’ve been doing affiliate marketing, internet marketing for over 18 years now and still it doesn’t matter what I want. It doesn’t matter if I create the best video about what I think is important. What matters is what do you search for? What kind of things are you looking up?
That’s where the Google Keyword Tool comes in handy. You see, the Google Keyword Tool goes through and it says, “Hey, check it out.” On Google, there’s over four million searches every minute. Every minute, four million people are searching Google. They could be searching for restaurants. They could be searching for movie times. They could be searching for how do I know if I have diabetes, or athlete’s foot, or whatever it is. How do I know if I have these things? They could be searching for anything. They could be searching for ways to build a house. They could be searching for mortgage tips. They could be searching for anything.
Now, I want you to note the difference here. The difference between someone actively going and searching Google for a specific keyword and the difference between someone on Facebook, or Twitter, or whatever. Now, Facebook and Twitter and all that stuff is great to get business on. But until you understand this, nothing is going to work. You have to understand the mindset of the customer. This is what we call search or browser intent. Browser intent. What does this mean what is your intent? For example, you had an intent when you came to this video. You’re like, “Okay. I want to learn how to find a niche because I want to make money.” Your intent is, hey, I want to make money as an affiliate. Really cool. You might have heard of affiliate marketing. You might have heard of this stuff before. Your intent is, hey, I want to learn this stuff so that I can make money. There’s the desire. The desire, boom, is linked to I want to learn this stuff so I can make money. That’s the intent.
Now, I want you to notice that I got all that intent from a keyword and that keyword is probably something like “find a niche” or “best keyword for affiliates” or whatever it is. Very, very important. We got to know the intent behind the word. We got to know where it’s coming from. When we look at this, we got to just be curious. Again, because you might be saying, “Well, that’s all fine and good, Marcus, you already have a market. You know you want to get affiliate marketing people and you know what they want. What about me? The guy who just stumbles on a video and says, ‘I want to make money. I really don’t care how as long as it’s ethical and legal and fun.’ That’s what I want to do.” Well, what we do is what I’ve done for over 18 years.
You see, a lot of people don’t know the backside of my affiliate marketing business. On the backside of my affiliate marketing business, we are always looking for new niche markets. We’re always looking for new crowds of people who want something but they don’t know what they ultimately want yet. For example, I could go into the market and I could go into my Google Keyword Tool and I could go in there and I could type something in like “diet.” Pretty cool. Okay. Let’s find out what people want to search for with diet. Now, you’re going to find things like diet, 10 pounds in 10 days diet, military diet, apple juice diet, grapefruit diet, whatever diet. You’re going to find all these different diets people want.
Now, what you’re going to notice is that with these diets, you’re going to have a lot of competition. The competition is always higher when the keyword is obvious. Very important. I want you to write that down. The competition is always higher when the keyword is obvious. This is where most people start marketing. They try to find something like diet, or mortgage, or weight loss, or puppy training, or whatever it is. They’re going to for a market like that.
Now, what I like to do is I like to go off the beaten path. I want to be curious just like I have over the last 18 years and I want to say, “What is it that people are searching for?” Because as a marketer, I really don’t care as long as there’s a way to make profit on it. Just like the producers of TV shows. They don’t care if the TV show is funny to them or if they like it. That’s irrelevant. What matters is will the general public like it? That’s all that matters. Let’s talk about this general public.
Now, what I like to do instead of going to the Google AdWords tool and searching for something like diet, or make money, or something like whatever, anything. I don’t know why this thing is filming way down here but maybe it’s getting stuff. That helps. We got that there. We’re like, “Diet and make money.” This is what most people do.
Now, what I like to do is I like to use what I call trigger words. A trigger word is a list of words that I have. We actually have a giant ongoing list in the Simple Sites Big Profits course. This trigger word method, this trigger word list gives you a list of words. Now, this list of words is not tied to a market. I don’t know what they are. These words are things like download, won’t, find, PDF, that says PDF, learn. Maybe it says spreadsheet. Maybe it says file. Maybe it says something like can’t. Now what these words do, notice that these are not tied to any market. They might want to download videos. They might want to download a template. We don’t know. Won’t. I don’t know what they want. They just don’t want something or something won’t do something. Find. They’re looking to find something. PDF. They probably want some kind of PDF or something like that. Very, very cool.
We got to look at this in a really objective way. Learn. What do they want to learn? They could want to learn Spanish. They could want to learn internet marketing. They could want to learn pretty much anything, anything. We look at this and we say, “Okay. What do these words do?” Well, what these words do is they give you a backdoor into what’s going on in Google that other marketers and other companies haven’t figured out yet. This is extremely important because when we go to the Google Keyword Tool and instead of typing something like diet, or make money, or lose weight, or affiliate marketing, or web hosting, what we’re going to find is other things because all we want to do is be curious about what the market wants.
We’re going to take something. We’re going to take something like download and we’re going to put that in the Google AdWords Keyword Planner. If you don’t have access to the planner, we actually have something set up for you at keywordsniffer.com so you can go in there and you can see a gauge of what’s going on without signing up for an account. But later on down the road, obviously you want to get an account.
We look at this and we’re like, “Okay. We want to go into the Google AdWords Tool and we want to type something in like download.” What’s going to happen is it’s going to say, “Download YouTube video. Download PDF. Download whatever,” and all these things that people want to download. Now, our job as marketers is to say, “Well, what can we do with this?” Again, behind every search, there is a desire and an intent. What is the intent of someone looking to download PDFs or download WordPress plugins? What is their intent? Well, we have to dig and we have to look at that. For example, let’s say that someone is looking for won’t or can’t. Let’s say we type “won’t” in the Google Keyword Tool and they put something like “puppy won’t stop biting.” There we go. Check that out. Now, look at the difference. You have something like puppy training. All these guys, all these huge companies are going for the word “puppy training” and it’s very, very competitive. We looked at it and we’re like, “This is super competitive. What am I going to do here? It’s not going to work.”
Again, when the guy comes in, his intent is I just want to train my puppy. You don’t know what kind of puppy. You don’t know what the problems are. You don’t know what he wants to train him to do. You don’t know anything. All you know is they want to train a puppy. It’s a very difficult market to get into just like weight loss. We don’t know much about them.
Now, if we go for something like our trigger word and we find something like “puppy won’t stop biting.” Now, check this out. This is why this is so important. If we have a thousand people a month or let’s say 10,000 people a month or whatever it is looking for “puppy won’t stop biting,” then we’re going to take a look at this and we’re going to be like, “Okay. Check this out.” We got 10,000 people or a thousand people a month or whatever it is and they’re looking up “puppy won’t stop biting.” Now, here I know the problem. The problem is that they desire their puppy to stop biting them just like I do. My puppy is biting me all the time and we found out that if you get a little can with some pennies in it and shake it, they usually stop or something like that. Puppy won’t stop biting.
Now, this person is looking for a direct solution. Now, follow with me on this. Is it easier to get people that come in on puppy training and you say, “Hi, I’m Marcus. I’m the puppy trainer. I had a puppy who was a brat and now the puppy is happy.” Or, is it easier to say, “Hi, I’m Marcus. My puppy wouldn’t stop biting. The puppy bit us all the time and it was really, really annoying. If you want to learn how to make your puppy stop biting you, there’s three things that I’m going to teach you. One, it has to do with the psychology of the puppy. Two, it has to do with verbal cues and, three, it has to do with how you train them and everything else. Now, as a bonus, I’m not only just going to teach you about how to make your puppy stop biting, but I’m also going to teach you how to train your puppy, how to house train your puppy, make them stop crapping in the house, all this stuff. Put your name and email in the box for this.”
Now, all you have to do is find good information about this one topic. All I have to do is say, “Well, I’m going to be an expert. I’m going to make a website all about puppy won’t stop biting.” If I get let’s say 500 to a thousand of the 10,000 people that searched for it, or whatever it is, if I get those people, now I am building a mailing list based on what these people want. I’m basing it on this. Now, the people come into me, they say, “That Marcus guy sure is swell. He gave us good information. He helped us out with our puppy. Our puppy doesn’t bite anymore or whatever and that information is good. I think I will buy some stuff.” Really cool.
Now, as an affiliate marketer, as an internet marketer, our goal is to use these trigger words in a way that really, really, really captures what these people want. We want to go in and we want to capture what they want. We want to figure it out and then we branch out. Instead of going from the puppy training market, going after all these competitive stuff, trying to compete with the big dogs, all I’m doing is breaking the market up using the trigger words and saying, “Hey, I’m going to go after puppy won’t.” Then you break it down and you say, “Okay. Dog won’t. Puppy can’t. Puppy won’t. Puppy stop.” Whatever and you do your deep keyword research and you make sites on all of them.
Here’s the deal. If I can make a site on puppy won’t stop biting and I can get 500 to a thousand people to come to my site and put their name and email in the box, that means my list is growing by 750 people a month or approximately 10,000 people per year. If I’m growing by 10,000 people per year, that’s pretty cool in just this one little market. Now, if I have another one like puppy poops in the house, if I have that and I get, let’s say, another 3,000 or another 10,000 or whatever, now I’m building myself as an expert and now I have all this content for all these people and now I’m positioning myself in a way that really works.
But if you don’t know what to go into because you might say, “Well, Marcus, I don’t know to go into the puppy one.” That’s where you start with the trigger words. You start with these words and you’ll find stuff like: can’t, I can’t do this, I can’t fix my car, why can’t I find a job? Different things like that and you want to find out what they’re searching for. It’s very, very, very important. Another word that I like to use is something like “before,” “before or after.” You look at this and you’re like, “What do people want before or after? What do I before a job interview? What do I do before this? What do I do after a car accident? What do I do after I apply for a job? What do I do?” People are going to be looking this stuff up and it’s always very easy to start with these trigger words. This is how you find your audience. This is how you find the right group of people to market to.
You’re going to through there because a lot of people say, “Marcus, I don’t know where to start.” The hardest place to start is always where you don’t know. If you don’t know what to do, like if I say, “I’m going to go to the gym and lose weight but I don’t know what I want to work on or how to do it or what kind of weights to lift or anything like that,” then I’m going to be stuck. I’m going to be dead in the water. But if I go through and instead I say, “Well, maybe I’ll work on my abs or I’ll get a trainer or something like that,” then it’s going to help. If you look at these trigger words, this is what’s going to make all the difference.
Now, if you’re struggling and you don’t know where to get started and you say, “Marcus, you seemed to be pretty good at finding these trigger words. I’d like to find some kind of market like this.” We actually have a service where we help you do that. Whether you have an existing business, or an existing idea, or whether you’re brand new, this service will help you either by finding you the words that are going to work for you and giving you a plan to make it work or finding you a market off the bat that maybe you don’t know what to go into. We’ll find that market for you, buy your domain, get your keywords, set up some content, set up your site and we’ll also tell you the keywords and the offers to run. Once you have your word, like once I have puppy won’t stop biting, now I know all I got to do is find something for puppy lovers or find some kind of puppy training product that I can promote as an affiliate and, boom, I’m off to the races and it works really well.
Now, the difference here is going to be puppy training is going to be like a dollar or more per click because you got big companies out there. “Puppy won’t stop biting” is going to be like 10ยข a click or less. You’re going to get traffic a lot cheaper. They’re going to be a lot easier to convert and that’s how we choose our market. We choose our market by not having any preconceived idea of what’s going on. We choose our market by saying, “Well, what are these people searching for? What are they interested in? What is their intent? What’s their desire and how do we match that need?” If you can match that need, everything else will fall into place.
What I want you to do is I want you to get in the habit of using the trigger words and using the tools. If you go over to keywordsniffer.com, you could check out our keyword tool. You could play around with it, see how it works and plug in some of these keywords and see what’s going on. Because if you could plug in some of these keywords and find things that are going to work, then curiosity definitely helps you in that aspect because so many people are trying to fit something to an existing market rather than just saying, “Hey, what are people doing already?”
You see, the beauty of internet marketing and where people struggle is that they try to force something. They try to go out there and they try to say, “Well, I know there’s a lot of money in weight loss. How do I find a noncompetitive keyword? How do I find an offer that’s going to fit?” They struggle because, hey, that’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Instead, what I do is I say, “What does the market look up? What do they want? What are they interested in? How can I help them with that?” If you can get into the habit of helping people find what they’re searching for, then life is going to be a lot easier for you as an affiliate marketer.
