25 Success Tips With Evan Carmichael
Hey guys, its Marcus here and I just got back from a video marketing world in Texas. It was really great. Actually it was the first time I’ve been to a video conference. I met some really good people and had some time to sit down with some pinnacle business people in the video marketing space. I want to share an interview (something like a fire-site chat) that I had with Evan Carmichael.
Who Is Evan?
Evan started his YouTube business/channel from nothing and built it to over 1.5 million subscribers, and hundreds of millions of views. He’s got books, and a full-hedge business that he created from his YouTube by simply going after the tactics that I teach you-where you go through and find out what people want, what they are searching for and you build out some contents.
One of the things that I like most about Evan’s content is the fact that a lot of it is sourced together and picked from other places. He’s actually creating content based on what other people do. On his channel, you’ll see things like, “Top 10 tips from bill gates, Top 7 things an entrepreneur needs to know”.
In this interview, I had a chance to sit down with him and get real. I hope you’ll enjoy it. It’s raw, real, and we go through the struggles and what it takes to really make it in a business, whether its YouTube, search marketing, Affiliate Marketing or whatever it is you’re into. Interview Session With Evan Carmichael- 25 Success Tips
Marcus: I have got Evan Carmichael, who is a YouTube legend. He has a lot of subscribers/following and he built it up from nothing (which is awesome.) That’s a story I really like because I can relate to that (having started mine from nothing).
Now, how do you go from just being a guy who wants to get subscribers and followers on YouTube or how do you build from nothing? How did you go through and say, “Hey, I’m going to reach this crowd” (which by the way, his crowd is filled with success-minded people which is the most-broad you can get, making it extra difficult). What are the steps you took to actually implement and grow?
Evan: I think the first part is just starting. When I first started, I wasn’t trying to be YouTube famous. It was an experiment. I think people don’t try enough things then i think I should try.

1: Try Something.
If you think you may be good at something, go give it a shot. My first video sucks, this happens to everybody. That’s always a journey, and it’s a process-just try. If you get an idea, just do it. My first video I have up is a profile for Disney. I was doing that with my website and having a success with it before I moved to YouTube.
I’m a visual learner. I have a successful website, it’s growing, and we’re making money. Since I’m a visual learner, I wished it was video content. Then I said to myself, ‘what if I just made a video?”. Then I made a video on Walt Disney and put it up on my channel (which was nothing) and my website and we got a bit of view on it. Though it’s not blowing up but it was fun to make.
- Find Something Missing In Your Niche Community
If I was watching that as a first-time entrepreneur, I’d like that so that’s cool. So, I thought to myself, the 19-year-old boy would love this video and I want to make more. That’s the starting point. It’s like, if you want to get married, then you go on some dates. You’re not going to get married on the first day.
- Use Your Pain To Help Others And Grow Their Business
Your purpose comes through your pain. My pain was struggling as an entrepreneur, getting started even when I don’t have any money and all those self-doubt.
- Don’t Expect Your First Try To Work Perfectly
So, that’s the mindset, I had a fun time doing the video and it took a ton of work. It was multiple days of research and filming and everything like that. The outcome was not anything to my standard, but I love doing it.
- Continue To Make Quality Content For Your Market
As it transitioned from hubby to business, I continued to make the content (I took breaks, maybe a couple of weeks), and the model was always- “get a couple of content, compile it, know what works”, which is cool. I’ve always been fascinated with quotes.
For example, the sites that have tons of quotes are boring as hell. No one wants to scroll through a thousand of quotes. So, when I look at that, I’d be like, “I can rank for some author and quotes, really easily”. I would just compile the video.
Marcus:
Are you looking at “okay, people are searching for this; therefore I’m going to make this?”
Evan:
- Start Before Having A Perfect Strategy
I think you need to start before having a strategy. If you get an idea, just start and try it and just see. For example, in affiliate marketing, I think too many people think about affiliate marketing for 2 years and then look for the perfect plan and strategy and they still don’t do it before they make it look like some big huge thing. Just start, be part of anybody’s lunch campaign and just see if you like the process.
- If You Love It And Keep Going, You Win!
Did you like the process; did you like going through the lunch sequence? Did you like trying to create content? If you love it and keep going at it, you’ll win.
Marcus: I totally agree because people get so stuck and they are like, “okay, I need to have this decision; I need to know this and that”. When I started, I was only like, ” I need to make money because we were broke and had kids on the way” and I was like, “I need to make a website for a limo company because they need them”, and I just tried it. I didn’t wait till I had this huge structure.
The idea is to get started somewhere. Put a post up, put a video up, get a webpage up. Just get something out there and get a feedback. It might suck, but you can go from there.
Evan: Every big persons and hero you look up to had a lot of pain in building their business. Their struggle led to their success. I’m a huge believer that “your purpose comes from your pains”.
- Focus On Serving Your Market
You gain by serving others. If you’re not happy in life, then you’re not serving other people enough. The best businesses are serving customers. For example, in affiliate marketing, you’re selling a product that you believe in that will help the customer in getting results, not just trying to get a commission. For me, I struggled so much as an entrepreneur.
I was making $300 a month, I turned down “dream jobs” that my friends wanted to do. The worst part is that my friends were making 6 figures and I can’t even afford 20 bucks. I was too embarrassed and ashamed to tell people that I wasn’t doing well. I just kept working hard and hustling, but I had nothing.
At a point, I told myself I want to quit, and then I came back. Because I struggled so much as an entrepreneur, now I want to help other entrepreneurs. That was my pain-free. I still feel the suffering of $300 a month and being embarrassing and shamed because I didn’t have anything.
- Let The Struggle Motivates You
Just put in work, I mean real efforts, not something like, “I think it’s going to be easy”. It wasn’t easy for me. I didn’t get results- because in other things that I worked on, I usually get results.
But here, it’s not happening. So I feel that frustration and know that most entrepreneurs don’t make it, and this became my purpose to help entrepreneurs go through those days. I got saved by bill gates by researching his company, like “how bill gates went from zero to one.” That’s all I want to do, not the next million now. How did that happen? What can I learn from it?
- Model Something That Works
I learned from him and I make it work on my business and within a couple of months, I had my first cheque for $39,000, and to me, that was money and ridiculous. At that point, I had a strategy that I can keep using (more like a one-off sales) that keeps working. That’s why I also love modelling success. Because, by modeling bill gates, I built my business.
How Evas is getting me to figure out my “stop drinking model of success!
Marcus: A lot of us have that drive for a while. For me, my dream was to do the affiliate thing. But my main dream is that I want to change the narrative of alcoholism in America because that’s what I went through and that was my pain-point. It was a very difficult thing because, for me, I was an entrepreneur, I was successful, had my money, no one knew what I want through but it was absolutely out of hell.
Evan- how did you get out of the alcoholism? How did you get sober? What were the tactics?
Marcus: I went insane. Alcoholism was really bad; you don’t sleep when you’re living on alcohol. Not getting sleep will make you insane.
Evan: how did you fix it?
Marcus: It fixed itself. Four years ago, I was drinking. I was like, “I can’t do this, and my identity was business”. I looked at my numbers and I was like, “hey, we only made 6 grand today, I’m a loser”, then depression sets in.
Then, when I went insane, I was actually taken out of my house (non-voluntarily), and then they take me to a mental hospital. As I was sitting there, I was watching this lady as she was having a conversation with no one. Then I said to myself, “I’m Marcus, an entrepreneur and I don’t belong here”. And then, something goes off in my head and tells me, this is exactly where you belong, you’re insane. And me being the control freak that I was, I realize that there is so little in my life that I control. I can’t control what happens with my kids, I can try, give them the best, but I can’t control it.
Evan: how did you realize that? Did you read a book?
Marcus: It came slowly. At first, I went into rehab and for me, I’m anxious. I churned out a lot of money to go to the rehab and its pretty ghetto.
I can’t even shower when I want, I don’t have my own room. To me, that experience was like, “all better off”. So that was my first realization of “I have no way to control my environment” and then when I got out, I started listening to inspirational audios and everything changed.
I used to be a street preacher and I came from that background. I listen to preaching from this guys and it just shocked my world. For example, they say, money is not real. I was like, ” I’m an entrepreneur and I work for money all my life, how do you mean, money is not real?” It’s a statement of imagination; it was all based on an agreement. I was like, “so all these things that I’ve been working on, and everything my identity was built on is a total fake. There is no Marcus”.
And I just came to this point that I was like, it doesn’t matter. There are over 8 billion people on the earth, what makes me so special. From then, I realize that I deserve what the least person on earth has. I wake up, and I don’t know why I was born in America. The kid in India that struggles to get food, that’s what I deserve. And looking at that, I’m not special; I’m just like everyone else.
I can go do whatever I want. I’m not living to what you think I am or what you want me to be or what I want me to be. And that works for me, because I looked at it like, so many people who come out of alcoholism are totally pissed off people that can’t drink. And for me, I don’t even care anymore. I don’t drink anymore because I can live with my anxiety and I can accept myself.
My life philosophy is that, “if I had your upbringing, and I was like you, I would make the decisions you make. If I had that exact path, I’d be you. Therefore, I can’t judge you or tell you what to do.”
- Find The Feeling In Your Pain That Others What To Avoid In Life.
How did you bring that into the business? Whether it’s strictly alcoholism or lots of people have things that do not really apply to alcoholism, the sense of being out of control. The sense of having a sense of addiction that they think it’s beyond them. I think, even that transition from where you said, “I just changed”. Here is what actually did the change: “I went in and sought help, listened to this and learn this”. That’s what you did. You can break down the process for other people.
- Find The Model Of What You Did To Get The Results Others Want.
I think it’s cool because you can do that with anything. Internet marketing is at the core, I think about just helping people.
- Have Integrity In Your Business
My goal is for people to build a brand. Even anybody in affiliate marketing, my goal would be to firstly recommend products that I use. A lot of people don’t do that and that’s why I think affiliate marketing gets a bad rap sometimes. What I’d want to do is to build a brand so that whatever I recommend, people will want to go in and give it a shot. So I’m not trying to find a new audience each time.
Marcus: This is exactly how I look at it. I look at it that you use the little stuff to build what’s going to build the brand. For example, if I want to do quotes or training on something, I’m going to do the little tiny bits because those are going to build up into the brand.
Evan– sure, as long as those “bits” are per the foundation!
- Have Laser Focus And Intent In Everything You Do
If you have the intent to build the brand, stay on top of it. Let them see your face, not just landing pages behind the scenes. Tell them your stories and everything. Tell them why you’re using this product.
- You Are The Value
My goal would be whenever you call up through your product; people want to buy it because it’s you. They’ll look at it just because it’s you, even if they don’t have the interest. So, that’s the building the brand part, where people are attached to you and your story and the reason why you’re doing things, more than search and intent.
- Play The Big Long-Term Game
Direct marketing is still amazing and it works, I just think it’s a small game compared to building a brand.
Marcus: for those that are looking for a small game too, what would you say, in terms of content creation.
Evan: I think it starts with the decision of do I want to be the “how to” kind of person per do I want to build a brand. If you’re doing a “how to” channel, you can talk about to sell affiliate cleaning product.
- Focus On A Goal That Fits Your Model
Don’t judge yourself based on subscribers, because they are just your model. You’re trying to rank and search for those keywords, get views on the videos, and put them into your funnel.
Don’t freak out when you’re not getting subscribers for your channels. Don’t freak out if you’re not getting tons of comments. This is not the business you’re building.
- Stick To Your Mission Statement Or Value Proposition
People come back to my content because they believe. Believe is the central theme of my business.
If you know what a message is, then you’ll find a way to inject that into the story. If you want to build a brand, do you want to build it forever?
For example, if you want to stop alcoholism, it’s never going to happen. Because every day you wake up, and there is a big ocean in front of you, and you try to empty the lake, but you only have a spoon, you can never empty it. If you want to do something bigger, build a brand. If you want to make sales fast, do direct marketing.
- Consistency
One of my subscribers started a YouTube channel. When he first started doing it, he’s doing almost daily content. I looked at his content and I’m like, “I really like this guy”, but nobody knows him. I really hope that he keeps going because if he keeps going, he will build a brand that people will get familiar with him and he can be a huge source of inspiration.
Me being in the entrepreneur world, I want more voices, I want more people to be creating content because they may not be able to hear it how I said it. So, I want more voices saying similar things in their own ways.
He kept going and now he has half a million subscribers. There are a lot of people that have genuine talent. If you think you’re good, and then you’re not winning, you’ll feel like it’s a waste of time. But, it takes consistent work.
- Progress Always Beats Perfection
I don’t consider myself talented at this: I did 350 videos public and around 700 before I inspired myself. 700 videos! That’s more than what most people have on their channel.
- Look For Shortcuts And Hacks To Get Out Of A Rut
Looking for hacks is great. If Marcus gives you an advice on how to get your way through affiliate marketing faster, you just learned something great. You want to look for shortcuts, but it’s still a journey you’re going on.
I think copying is great but it only takes you so far. People copy my stuff all the time. I also copied people when I got started. But if all you do is copy, you’ll be a junior version of that person. I spent zero time looking at people who copy me.
- Play By The Rules
You’ll get to a point where you break even, and pay your bills, just by copying as long as it’s ethical.
It’s a great idea to start with copying and then you adjust and figure it out how to inject your own specialness into it, otherwise, you’ll just stay a copy of somebody else.
Marcus: Any last minute things to people that are struggling and not getting it?
- Make Your Actions Match Your Ambitions
I think you need to make sure that your actions match your ambitions. What is your ambition? What is the life that you want? Not just affiliate marketing or any business, but in real life- what is your life? What is your schedule? What does a perfect week look like to you?
- Put In The Work
And then, you start filling out your calendar. The problem is people who have big ambitions are doing a lot of talking. The work is not been put into their schedules. If it’s affiliate marketing, great! Then massive action- Watch every single video that Marcus has ever made. When you said do something, try it, and stop thinking about it. It worked for Marcus, see if it will works for you.
- Spend 5% ON Planning, 95% ON Doing
People spend too much time planning. Planning is important, a strategy is important, but people spend too much time thinking and planning which doesn’t count as doing. 95% of the time should be on Doing. Even a poor plan executed well would crush.

Automate Your Affiliate Income
Today we’re going to talk about how to make automated autopilot affiliate commissions. I’ll tell you how to make the best kind of money there is—the money you make when you’re sleeping, when you’re out on vacation, and when you’re not even working.

First of all, let’s get into how to automate income. How do you automate your income so that it just comes automatically, and it builds and grows? Let’s take a look at some of the things we can and cannot automate.
What can’t we automate? We can’t really automate website creation. We can’t really automate the research. We can’t automate building affiliate links and things like that. Those things we have to do one time. We have to set them up and make them work.
Now, let’s talk about what we can automate. Some of the things we can automate are the very most important things, once you set up a website one time. Let’s say you set up your website, you put some content on it, and you put some affiliate links on it. Then, in order to automate it, all you have to do is have systems in place that generate traffic over and over.
Here’s the deal. You’re going to get paid in proportion to the quality and quantity of the traffic that you provide to the offers. If you can get this traffic over and over on autopilot, that is the name of the game. That’s what works so well.
When I talk about traffic, we’re talking about two different types of traffic. One type is new traffic, and the other type is recycled traffic. How can you get new people to your site?
You could set up a pay-per-click ad. This is where you go to Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, wherever, and you buy an ad, and it generates traffic. I do this with banner ads. I buy a banner ad one time. I pay the bill for the banner ad every single month, and it generates me money automatically on autopilot.
You can do the same thing with paid traffic. The more you set up that are targeted, the better quality of traffic, and the better you’re going to, and the automated income is going to come in.
You could create new content. Another way that you can automate your traffic is by creating new posts or content. One thing I like to do is create new content. If I create new content for my market, it’ll get out there, it’ll go on the search engines, it’ll get me traffic, and I’ll start getting automated income.
Right now, there are tons of people hanging out on my website. There are people buying stuff. The only way that happens is because I get people coming to my site each and every day.
If I have thirty pieces of content out there every day, generating ten visitors a day each, that’s 300 visitors a day. The law of sales averages says I should get a sale every 100 clicks. That would be three sales per day or more. It’s very easy to set up, and it’s automated.
You could create new sales funnels. Another way to go out there and get automated income is to create new sales funnels. Create some new thing that you could give away to your audience to build a mailing list. That automates the ability to recycle traffic.

People watch my Talk Sober videos and say, “Hey Marcus, this video is fantastic. I’m going to subscribe and click the bell so I can get more videos from you and attend your live streams every week.” Over on my Talk Sober website, I talk to people about how to stay sober. I’ve been messing around it for a while, building a YouTube channel, and got a lot of people interested, and getting a lot of people to stay sober. Which is great, because that’s the goal.
I have those people and I tell them, “Check this out. If you go to my website, I’ll give you a list of letters that I wrote.” It’s a list of 31 letters that I wrote to an alcoholic that basically guides them through stuff. They’re around seven pages each, and it took me about an hour each to write. I can tell people to go to my website, put their name and email in the box, and I’ll send them letters each and every day.
What does that do? It automates the ability to recycle traffic. People come and fill out the form, and each and every day for 31 days, they get an email with a letter to help them stay sober.
It doesn’t have to be 31 pieces of content. It can be seven, or three, or 500, or however many you want.
Each time I send them the letter, I don’t just say, “Thank you”, I say, “Check it out. Today’s letter is about how to stay sober in tough times. Today’s letter is about this, today’s letter is about that. Go to my website to download the PDF version of the letter.”
What does that do? That takes these people that came in and filled out the form, and it gets them to go back to my website every single day for 31 days. And in this process, the people who read these every day and get help by these letters want
to buy things.
You give genuine good help for people. Whatever you’re marketing, send it out and it generates automated visitors to your site. You literally set this up once and you’re ready to go.
I just started doing this on my Talk Sober site. I set up seven letters in about 45 minutes. It wasn’t that hard to do. Now these people will go back to my website day-in, day-out. They’ll be looking at this stuff and watching, and every time they hit my website is another time for them to see my ads, or see affiliate offers, or buy things.
The name of the game is to get people to come back to your site. Because here’s the deal: we all know that not everyone buys the first time they see you. How many of you guys have watched my videos and you haven’t bought in anything yet? If I just thought, “Forget it, I’m focusing on the buyers,” I would lose a lot of money. Because I know that even though you haven’t bought yet, you’re going to in the future, because you like this stuff and you want to make money with it.

The same kind of thing happens with your website. The more and more people come back to your site, the more helpful info you give them, the more you bond with them, the more likely they are to check out your affiliate offers, to click on things, to buy stuff. And I have to tell you, it’s really, really easy to set up. Once you set this up once, you could literally populate an entire year’s worth of content in your autoresponder to send people back to your stuff. Very simple. You just have to look at it in a really, really basic way.
Let’s say you’re in the market to sell Bibles, or you want to market the Bible toolbar. That’s a big one—I’ve marketed and made money with that one. I get paid around three when people download the Bible toolbar. People come to my site, and if I do really well, I might get 10% of visitors to download the Bible toolbar. If I get 100 people to my site, and ten of them download the toolbar, that’s $30 in revenue for me. Tomorrow I have to get another 100 people to make another thirty bucks. If I want to get more people, I have to do it again.
So if I get 100 people, I make $30 dollars. Wonderful. But what about the other 70 people? What if I could get people to put their name and email in a box and they say, “Yes, Marcus, I want Bible verses delivered to me daily.” I pick out some good Bible verses and put them into my autoresponder, and every day, those people are going to get a Bible verse, and it will make them feel great. And they’ll go to my site to see the whole Bible verse, or download a picture, or something like that.
And once they go, I tell them to download the Bible toolbar. Now the same 100 people are going to produce a lot more, because I’ll get them back to my site. And for those that don’t want the Bible toolbar, I can offer them something else.
My favorite two ways to automate your income is to 1) build content that gets traffic every day to build a mailing list, and 2) populate your autoresponder with the messages that are going to stick with them and bring them back to your site.
It’s very important that you get them back on your site. If you get them back on your site, that’s where the magic happens.

I want to dive right in and show you a cool tactic that I was kind of discovering last night that really has a really good marketing lesson attached to it.
So first, what I want you to look at is I want you to look at the fact that there are lots of tools in the simple sights course. Right, in your simple sights, big profits. Course. If you have that, you’re going to get a tool section like this. You’ll get all my tools. Which is awesome.
Also, what you’re going to notice is that the things that I teach you on this channel and in the tools and in the courses that I have are skills.
And those skills, once I learned, are valuable skills.
I’m going to show you how that works right here, right now.
First of all, what I was doing the other day is I was looking for someone to create a bunch of buttons for me, a bunch of little buttons like search buttons and by now buttons and everything like that for a new plug ins to give you guys some options to have on your site. Now, while I was looking for that, I was out there and I was searching for stuff like Web button, right, like this. Right now it’s going to fiverr because fiverr is where you can get little things created and stuff like that.
You can outsource things really easily.
So I was going through and I was looking at guys like this that have little buttons and buttons here, buttons and more buttons as I was going through. I noticed something come up. That’s a really, really important that I found here.
It was actually under PayPal buttons.
So if we go through and we type in PayPal button, watch what happens.
What happens is we get people that are willing to create PayPal buttons for like five dollars, which is cool.
The whole idea of this video is how do you make five dollars over and over and over again in a really easy way in about 15 seconds.
These people are actually creating PayPal buttons for five dollars or 10 or whatever.
I’ll help you make a PayPal button. I’ll help you integrate a PayPal button, help you make a PayPal button. But button, button, button, button. Right. Lots of people are looking this up. And I want you to pay close attention because you’re about to get an aha moment.
Now, a lot of people are looking it up. We’ve got PayPal button. Eighty one hundred people on the Google AdWords tool every month are searching for it. PayPal donate button nine hundred nine thousand nine hundred people every month searching for it. Look at your competition. It’s pretty much like not even there. Create a PayPal button. PayPal code. PayPal buy now. Button PayPal payment link. Button pay mail donation.
Tons and tons of people. There’s thousands of people looking up PayPal buttons. Now, let me let you in on a little secret. The secret is, is that no one wants a PayPal buddy but markets. Didn’t you just say that people are looking for PayPal?
I mean, Marcus, you just told me that thousands of people want pay.
But the secret is, is no one really wants a PayPal button. What they want is sales and donations. They don’t want the button. The button is a vehicle to get them sales and donations. But what they really want is the sales. They want the money. They want to get the donation, get the payment. That’s what they want in the real world. So I’ve got to look at that. That’s what we call intent based marketing.
What’s the intent behind someone searching for a PayPal button?
Well, they want to make sales, OK. Keep that in the mind now.
Lots of people looking this up. It’s a huge niche. Lots of stuff, right. Lots of things going on here. Here’s even PayPal by button code if you want like a long tail keywords or something like that. Now, on fiverr, these services are being sold.
People are selling these every day.
You can go there. You can order it. Now, let me show you something really cool in the tools that we have and the stuff that I teach you. We have a PayPal button generator. So if you want to make five dollars, if you’re like, Marcus, I’m totally broke. I don’t have two nickels to scrub together. I don’t got nothing. Teach me to make money. What you could do is you could actually go through and use the tool in your simple siites course.
So you can use this tool. You can go to fiverr,
You can sell PayPal buttons all day long till your heart’s content and you can do it free.
We have this button called Create a buy button and let’s see where it’s at. I got a lot of tools in there. Which place for a lot of stuff, right?
So you could do this with tons of things, not just PayPal buttons. Now we’ve got a buy now button creator. We choose our payment processor. We choose PayPal because they want to pay, pal, but we choose the button we want. I personally like this.
Add to cart button, but you can use whatever you want. Or you can make a custom one for your five dollar guy or whatever. You put your item number in. You ask your client, what’s the item number? Well, it’s 54. What’s the item name? Well, it’s a PayPal button e-book or whatever it is. Right. Whatever your client says, you put your price. What’s the price of it? Well, let’s say it’s thirty seven dollars. All right, then you put your PayPal email and PayPal email, whatever your client’s email is. Right? Whatever. OK. Boom.
And there we go. Now, you copy this code. This is the code that they are looking for, right? That’s it. That’s the code they’re looking for. So now they could take this code. They can go to their page. So let’s say we wanted to put it on the home page of affiliate marketing, dude. We just click edit. They would put their code in whichever type of Web site software they use. All right. We go to the text and then we put our code right below the form, right like that.
We hit update and bada bing, bottom boom. We got a fancy handy dandy PayPal button. Right? Like this. Really cool. Really easy. Something you can start right away. It’s so simple. It’s not even funny. So really cool. Now, the lessons that you can learn, the takeaways from this is number one, you can make money on the Internet really easy. What is fiverr?
Fiverr is a place to get traffic?
What is creating PayPal buttons?
That’s your offer. Right. Really simple and same kind of things I teach you with affiliate marketing. But I thought you might get it in a different way if you see it in like, hey, this is a service oriented thing. Here’s what you’re creating. Boom. Here you go.
You can even make a Web site about how to create PayPal buttons or you can sell PayPal buttons or whatever. Now, here’s where the cool part comes in. When you create your PayPal button and you deliver it to someone, you can actually include like a little guide on how to use it.
And then on the guide, you say, hey, by the way, if you want to learn how to increase your sales or increase your donations, go to this Web site or whatever. And it could be an affiliate offer. It could be your own offer, whatever. Because the fortunes in the follow up. Which is really cool. So I hope this made sense to you because it’s a basic way to see, hey, this is what people want. They’re buying right now on fiverr and you can use this to make money literally right now..
Here’s a skill that you can create in 15 seconds or 30 seconds or whatever. And boom, you’re off to the races. Super easy, super fun. Use it with your affiliate marketing. Use it with your niches and pay. If you’re short on funds, go set up a Facebook account and sell PayPal buttons all day or whatever you want to do. All right. So as you can see, big niche as you can see people paying right now. And as you can see, it’s really easy. All you got to do is learn the skill and you can learn tons of skills and make lots of money doing very simple task online. People do it every single day. Today I’m going to show you how to generate leads with your videos. Whether you’re a real estate agent, an online marketer, an affiliate marketer, or whatever you’re trying to do, you’ll learn how to get people from your video over to your site.
The name of the game here is leads. Leads are the key to making money. If you can get a bunch of people in a database and email them whenever you want, then you can basically print money on demand.
Imagine right now if you could generate 3,000 clicks to anything you wanted, or even 100 clicks to anything you wanted. Wouldn’t that make a difference to your bottom line and to your business? Of course it would. So let’s talk about how to get leads from online video. You do this in four steps.

1. Know your target audience. When you’re trying to get leads from online video, the first thing you need to notice is who you’re talking to. Where are they coming from?
If you have a video on how to generate more leads for real estate, or you have a video on how to play guitar riffs, or a video on a specific book, or something like that, you need to know your target audience.
2. Create helpful content. Once you know your target audience, you want to create helpful content, no matter what it’s about.
If you’re making a video about how to play guitar riffs from a band tool, then you would show your audience how to play that one little riff. That’s your helpful content. If you’re showing them how to sell their house, or how to make more videos on YouTube, you’d make a little video about how to create a video or something like that.
You want to give them a little bit of teaser content that gives them value. Helpful equals value, so we want to provide value to the market in our video. This could be in the form of a one-minute video, a 30-second video, or a one-hour video. Whatever it is, you want to generate more leads. The shorter the video, usually the better. But of course, if someone opts into your mailing list after watching an hour-long video, they’re probably going to buy something, right? They’re pretty committed.
3. Lead them to offers based on content. Now, this is very important. When you’re doing this on YouTube or any other video platform, you want to get them away from YouTube and to your site. The best way to do this is with something they can’t receive on YouTube anyway. They could go watch another video on YouTube—there’s hundreds of billions of videos they can go watch. The fact that they’re watching yours is kind of a big deal in and of itself.
If you’re making a video about guitar riffs, then you can tell people, “Hey check it out. Here’s this cool guitar riff.” Then at the end of your video, you say, “Go to www.toolriffs.com (or whatever it is) to download this riff in PDF.” Very important. When you use the word “download”, it’s like a magic word that triggers something in people’s brain. Whenever I use the word “download” in my email copy, the open rate goes through the roof, and so does the click rate. More opens, more clicks, more money for me.
Opting In

Now, when visitors get to your site, you want to get them to stay with you. You can do this in a number of ways. What I like to use is a custom plugin that I created called Squeeze Blogs Pro.
This is a little plugin that allows you to take your WordPress site and put a little opt-in box on it, on the sidebars and whatever pages and posts you want. So you can put your video on your page, and then the plugin puts the name and email boxes on the page, too.
Visitors fill in the name and email boxes, and then they go to your thank you page. They become a subscriber, and now you can email them. It’s very easy to do. The Squeeze Blogs Pro plugin allows you to maintain your regular blog content. And it works perfect with YouTube advertising, because you can change the opt-in box based on the video content. You can have all kinds of elements wherever you want them.
I’ve used this to generate hundreds of thousands of leads and make millions of dollars in marketing money, because of the fact that I’m doing this in a really cool way. Just helping people out.
For example, I have a lot of book reviews on my YouTube channel. I have all these videos, and I say, “If you like this video, go to my site to download the mp3, so you can listen to it in your car, on your iPad, on your iPod, when you’re working out, on your phone, whatever. Download the mp3 of this and watch my other book reviews.” Boom. Now I’m generating a list and I can market to them.
This, my friends, is how to get leads from online video in a really simple way. You don’t want to just say, “subscribe” or “opt-in to my newsletter.” Those are weak. They don’t give the person a reason. You have to give them a reason to opt in. Then, when they opt in, give them tons of killer content and sell lots of stuff.
For example, I could take everyone that downloads the mp3s of my videos, and I could sell them a video mp3 converter to do the same thing with other videos. I could get them into a free trial subscription to Audible. I could sell them content, make a membership club, whatever I like.
The sky is the limit. It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in. Just focus on 1) who they are and what they want, 2) creating helpful content and adding value, and 3) leading them to the offer based on your content.

Today I’m going to show you how to choose a good domain name.
You might be asking what qualifies me to teach you how to find a domain name. Over the last fifteen years, since the beginning of internet marketing as we know it, I’ve been buying and selling domain names and using domain names for my own sites to profit. Some of them I bought for as little as $15, and turned them into $25,000 without doing
anything but buying the domain, and I got the money on the day of (or a couple days before) it was about to expire. So, this can be profitable and fun.
Let’s talk about you and what kind of domain you’re going to use for your business, your idea, your blog, or whatever it is that you’re looking to put on the web.
Step One: Why Are You Creating Your Website in the First Place?
This is very important. Why are you creating this website? Is it for existing customers, or is it for new ones? Do you want to send existing customers to your site or do you want to gain new customers? The domain advice that I give you for each of these will be different.
If you’re going after existing customers, you would want something that’s easy to remember, and something that says your business name in the actual domain.
For example, if your domain name is BuffManJim.com, you would want BuckManJim.com as well, in case people misspell your domain name.
If you’re looking to gain new customers, you’d want to use the Google AdWords Keyword Planner, and then try to find the keyword that best fits what your site is going to be about.
For example, if you have a gym and want to promote personal training, you’d want to use the Google Keyword Planner and search for “personal training.” Let’s say the city that you want to target is Los Angeles. You would insert “personal training Los Angeles” into the search field.

Then you would select “get ideas”.

The Google tool tells us that “personal training Los Angeles” has been looked up about 390 times per month. That’s 390 potential customers that you can bring
to your site. So if that’s what you’re looking at doing, it would be best to get a domain like PersonalTrainingLosAngeles.com. If the .com site is taken but the .org is available, you could also get that domain as well.
The great part about this is that you’re targeting a keyword that people look up, and one that’s related to the type of business you’re trying to get.
Step Two: What Traffic Methods Are You Thinking of Using?
Now, you want to decide on what type of traffic method to use. Do you want to run ads on Google paid traffic? Do you want to try to rank for free in the organic (free) search engine listings? Do you want to use social media, such as Facebook? Do you want to use YouTube? Or do you simply want people to type in your domain name in a search field to find our website?
There’s a difference in each of these traffic methods. If you’re going after organic SEO traffic, you want to find a keyword using the Google Keyword Planner that is not competitive, and you want to get a domain name as close to the keyword as possible using .com, .net, or .org. And this will help when you’re trying to get ranked in the free search engine results.
On the other hand, if you’re going for the paid search engine listings, you’d want to have your keyword in the domain. However, it’s not as strict in the sense that you have to have the exact keyword you’re looking for. Imagine what it would look like if you had PersonalTrainingLosAngeles.org right in your domain, along with Personal Training Los Angeles as your title. Now you’re going to get a lot more traffic at a much cheaper price.
If you’re trying to get traffic on social media, make sure the domain is easy to remember, fits what they want, and is something they
can type in very easy. You don’t want something like Los Angeles Personal Trainers Training People Fast. You want something simple and concise. Something people can type in easily.
Step Three: Do You Have a Brand Name You Want to Use?
Do you have a brand name that you want to use? If you do, you need to check to see if it’s available. And is there a trademark already against it? If you own the trademark, you’re good to go. If there’s a trademark against it (which you could find out quite fast using a Google search), then you want to make sure that
you can, in fact, get the domain.
Is it easy to remember? Or is it something that people will forget? You want to make it very easy to remember and see. Did you double-check it to make sure it looks okay? Some domain names look a little different when you break them up, so you want to be careful. You want to double, even triple-check your domain to make sure it’s not something you don’t intend it to be.
Step Four: Can You Use Your Brand or Market with Keywords?
Is there a way to use our brand with keywords? If your brand is Double Time Pizza, you might want to use Double Time Pizza Vacaville, which also includes the keyword “Pizza Vacaville”. And again, you want to make sure that the keyword is in fact searched for using your Google AdWords Keyword tool.
Once know whether or not if you’re going for your direct brand name, and whether or not it fits all the steps above, go ahead and search for it. If it’s available, go ahead and get it. If it’s not available, you might want to go and use keywords or a variation of your brand name as well.
Tips for Getting Your Domain Name
Now, here are some review tips for getting your domain name.
Tip #1: If you’re looking to gain new customers with free traffic, use the Google AdWords tool to find the best keywords with low competition and an available keyword-loaded domain name. The competition can be seen right on the first page of Google. If you type your search in quotes, you’ll see your competition in the results.

Here, there is about 9,400 people, which isn’t that competitive if you’re doing web marketing according to the way that I teach you. And of course, if that domain’s available, grab it as fast as you can.
Tip #2: If you’re going for paid traffic, focus on a short, easy-to-read domain name with the main keywords in the title.
Tip #3: For social media, YouTube, or type-in traffic, make sure your domain is easy to remember and type in. When they can, people will misspell your domain name and type it wrong. Be sure to avoid this. Be sure to avoid that by having a simple domain with the keywords.

Today I’m going to show you five easy ways to get subscribers and video views on YouTube, so that you can start getting paid now. We’re talking about making money with the YouTube Partner platform. A lot of people are little freaked out about the ground rules that have been laid out by YouTube, so we’re going to break this down.
4,000 Hours Watched
Let’s say we want to get to 4,000 hours of our content watched, or we want to get 1,000 subscribers. How do we get there? And how much money is at stake in the first place?
First, let’s talk about getting 4,000 hours watched. That’s approximately 260.000 minutes, or about 600 minutes a day. Let’s say our average viewer watches one minute of our video. That would mean we would need 260,000 video views to get 4,000 hours watched. How much money would that be? Some say that YouTubers on the low end make an average or $1 per thousand views. If that’s the case, then you would make $260. Or, if you’re a YouTuber on the high end making $10 per thousand views, that means you’d make $2,600.
1,000 Subscribers
Last year I got to 1,000 subscribers on a brand new channel I made about addiction, which is actually a really competitive market. On this channel, we took it from 0 to about 3,000 subscribers and about 250,000 views. We get tons of views everything month, and we’re doing well. But even so, I don’t monetize that using YouTube, and I’ll talk about why.
Now, here’s what you want to do to get those 1,000 subscribers.

1. Refine your market. What are you doing out there? Are you just making funny videos? Are you teaching something? Whatever you’re doing, you have to refine it. Ask yourself: who is your target audience? Are they people that go to work? Are they people that stay home? Do they want to make money? Do they want to learn skateboarding? Are they people that you know want to learn how to knit? Who is your target market?
2. Use a keyword tool to find out what people are searching for. For example, you might want to check out the Google Keyword Tool. You can also use the glossary method. With this, you go to Google, type in whatever your market its, and then add the word “glossary”. This will also show you what people in your market are searching for.
3. Find the top videos. Once you’ve defined your target market, you want to find the top videos in that market. When you search, you’ll find topics related to videos that are getting lots of views. Try to find the videos using keywords that are easy to rank for.

4. Make a list. Now that you see the top videos and their matching keywords, make a list of the videos that you see. This is what is going to drive your audience.
5. Make content based on your list. If you make a list of 30 videos, you now have 30 new topics to make your own content about. Let’s say you find 30 topics from those 30 videos, and you make your own 30 videos over the next 30 days. You’ll gain subscribers and viewers very fast.
You want to watch for videos that have lower competition. Because the lower competition, the better chance you have at standing out, and the more people will watch your videos, and the more they’re going to subscribe, and the more money you’re going to make.
When you upload your videos, make sure your title is patterned after the keywords that are easy to rank for, and patterned after what’s getting a lot of views.
Bonus: 6. Tell visitors to subscribe. In every video that you make, tell your visitors to subscribe, subscribe, subscribe. Ask them why they aren’t subscribed. Tell them why they should subscribe.
If you use this format, it’s going to work extremely well. I use this on my addiction channel, where we go into things like addiction and anxiety, high-functioning alcoholics, all kinds of things. I find ideas for my content just by making lists of videos that people want to see.
